Nothing to complain about here. Smooth transition throughout the entire experience. Friendly informative staff, immaculately clean both inside and outside building, great river view, coffee and breakfast on point. And employee Peggy was kind enough to help make our honeymoon glorious by taking photos of my newlywed wife and I at various places around the beautiful property. She even instructed us through several cute poses. At checkout they even gave us some souvenirs to remember this magical time in our lives.

We arrived on Monday to escape Hurricane Milton, and I have to say, this place truly exemplifies southern hospitality! The entire staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating—the kindest people you could meet. We felt completely at home. The hotel is beautiful and very pet-friendly—we saw so many Floridians with their dogs. Our room was lovely, and the cappuccinos and lattes were fantastic! There’s a scenic river walk right next to the hotel, a yoga studio, and a wonderful restaurant with delicious food. Thank you for making us feel so welcome; we’ll definitely keep this place in mind for future evacuations.

Like the location, right on the Riverwalk path, and the historical vibe. Beautiful architecture and river views. However, guess what else is right nearby? The railroad tracks!! The fully functioning tracks that run during the day and night. Specifically @ 11pm, 2am, 5am…. Our stay was a Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. No trains ran on Sunday night. Don’t know about Saturday, but weekdays the train is super close and super loud. In addition you will have to ask for room service. You do have access to the nearby Marriott pool, but unfortunately they do not heat it. I rate this a 3 - star resort even though it’s rated a 4 - star.

Loved our stay! The pet friendly accommodations went above and beyond. Our room was outstanding! Clean, comfortable and had just the right amount of space. I found the hooks by the door to be super helpful. The bathroom was luxurious and spacious. The front desk staff was polite, friendly and helpful. We will most definitely be booking for our next trip into town.

Our experience at this boutique hotel was truly exceptional, thanks to the remarkable service we received. Deja and Kim in the restaurant provided outstanding hospitality, making our dining experience unforgettable. The breathtaking view of the river from our table only added to the charm. My wife and I would happily return just to have them take care of us again.

Elise, the hostess, was another highlight. Her impressive knowledge of the property's rich history, dating back to the 1800s and 1900s, added a unique and fascinating touch to our stay. At the front desk, Stephanie's warm and genuine kindness made us feel instantly welcomed.

Together, these four professionals exceeded our expectations in every way, offering service that was above and beyond.

However, I do have a couple of recommendations for improvement. The beds were not as comfortable as we had hoped, and the sheets felt a bit rough—possibly due to a lower thread count. Addressing these minor issues would easily elevate this hotel from a 4.9 to a perfect 5.0 rating.

All in all, this is a wonderful place that I would highly recommend. With just a few tweaks, it would be flawless.

My wife organized a stay here as a surprise for our 20th Anniversary and my 70th Birthday. It was a perfect surprise for me.

We also took our two hounds to this pet friendly place.

We enjoyed our stay from the first to the last minute:
Very friendly staff.
Clean and great room with a luxury walk-in shower.
Great breakfast and delicious coffee options.

Great view and perfect for long walks with the hounds.

Incomplete is the best way to describe City Mills. On one hand, the use of the space and the building designs are interesting. On the other hand, we found our suite to be dark and devoid of any heart. Staff is pretty non present and cleaning rooms required our request. Covid gave hotels an excuse to not clean rooms every day - which seems lazy for a hotel willing to charge the highest price in Columbus. The restaurant and the hotel are separately owned so there is little integration between the two. No gym is unacceptable - and the Y is not exactly next door. Add to the fact that the hotel sits next to a sub station on the river and you have the makings of a pretty drab experience. The hotels isolation could be a plus - quieter and peaceful - but it also seems to be a hotel waiting for a broader Columbus to transition to ‘groovy early industrial’ but can’t. Thats ok - just don’t pretend.
