One of my favorite restaurants in Yuma offering traditional Mexican fare and some very refreshing drinks. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. The staff is friendly and detail oriented. There is the main dining room, a small bar area and outside seating. One of my favorite local restaurants by far.

We went to Yuma to visit my mother and ran across this restaurant and decided to check it out. OMG! what a find. This is some of the best Mexican food I have ever had. Come to find out, my mother said we used to go there, at a different location when I was a child. The food was delicious, and the service was spot on. I will remember this place and be back when in town. I highly recommend it.

Friday special was tender beef chunks with gravy, beans, rice, flour tortillas, corn chips, salsa, for $11. Waitress was attentive and friendly. The place got very busy after about 4pm. I'll go back with friends. Everything looked clean. They were fast to clear tables after customers left.

Chretin's Mexican Restaurant has been a staple of the Desert Southwest for decades.

The restaurant relocated from Yuma's West End and is now located along one of the city's main arteries 16th Street. (Corner of 16th and Arizona Avenue).

The restaurant is well kept, staff is courteous and attentive. We didn't have to ask for refills. We ordered the Taco Salad, mixed fajitas, and the flan.

Taco Salad: Shell and veggies were fresh. We ordered the shredded beef which was well seasoned. Over all a great dish.

Mixed Fajita: The veggies were perfectly sauteed, I'm a sucker for sauteed onions. It came with shrimp, chicken, and beef.

Flan (Mexican Jello): The plating was perfect. The dessert wasn't too sweet even with whipped cream on top.

Overall a great experience and plan on coming back to try the menudo.

I like that they bring the salsa in a container so you can fill up the bowl as much or as little as you want. Food was flavorful though the red sauce on the cheese enchiladas was a tad salty, but it didn't stop me from eating it. Lively atmosphere with people enjoying their meals. Pleasant for a stop on a road trip.

One of my must go places when visiting my hometown. Rosa has been our favorite waitress for over 30years, always remembering my grandfather's order even when he couldn't due to dementia. The nachos are delicious and the machaca is heavenly.

The short and sweet is this: Fajitas were excellent although a bit skimpy on meat for the price, as mentioned in other reviews. Salsa was also excellent. What made the meal only a 3 was the fact that the waitress, pleasant as she was, never came back after bringing the meal. And they were far from busy. So no good excuse to leave me with an empty glass for more then half of my meal.
