This little inn was amazing! It's located at the back of of a small farm/nursery and is surrounded by state forest. There are 5 bedrooms, one is upstairs. The grounds are amazing, as they use the property for weddings and other events.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay in the Essex Suite! The room was gorgeous, super comfortable, and had a huge, beautiful bathroom. We packed a lot into a 2-day/1-night trip, and the inn was a relaxing and private home base. Tema was amazing from the moment we booked right up until we left. He was friendly, helpful, knowledgable about the area, and even made us breakfast early to accommodate our schedule (it was delicious!). We really appreciate everything he did to go above and beyond, and will definitely be back!

We chose this as our wedding venue because of its unique beauty. Nestled in the forest in Killingworth, CT, it's a serene escape from reality: as you enter, there's an orchard to the left, replete with apple, peach, and pear trees. Meandering deeper, there's a large koi pond surrounded by towering, natural evergreens and trees native to Connecticut that provided a spectacular backdrop for our wedding at the peak of foliage here in New England. Beyond the pond is the Inn, where we spent two nights (the night before and the night of our wedding), entertaining our guests who traveled from far away). Beyond the Inn in the rear-most part of the property, there is an intimate, secluded ceremony area surrounded by trees. It made for a very special entrance and exit opportunity. Walking back up from the ceremony area there's a huge patio where the reception tent is set-up. The "tent," which seems like an unfair word for what it is, was decorated to perfection with draping, lights, candles, and every other possible piece of decor would could imagine to create a movie-like wedding. The entire property is magical. It's just a very special place, owned and run by very special people who truly care about the experience that their guests enjoy there. We have heard from countless guests that ours was the very nicest wedding they have ever been to, and that the property was stunning. Our day there began with cocktail hour in the orchard, among the trees, moving down to the ceremony areas in the very rear of the property, and then culminating in the reception area (which also has two smaller koi tanks built into the stone wall). It is more than accurate and fair to say that Ken, Forrest, Tema, and the entire team at CHI, helped us to create and realize a wedding dream that truly was a fairytale, an idea and a vision that we still find hard to believe was our reality. The owners Ken and Forrest, and the Innkeeper, Tema, went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that both our stay at the Inn and our wedding were absolutely everything we envisioned. Their unwavering hospitality and attention to our every need was rare and irreproachable. We will absolutely never forget our most special wedding, stay, and experience at the Chatfield Hollow Inn, and are forever grateful to Ken, Forrest, and Tema!

We had our son & dil's rehearsal dinner & wedding here. Beautiful doesn't even come close to describing this place. The inn is so cozy yet roomy and immaculate. Ken & Forrest, the owners, went above & beyond to make the weekend extra special. Tema, the innkeeper, is amazing - he's friendly, fun & so helpful. Not only did we fall in love with the venue, we fell in love with Ken, Forrest & Tema too. We are definitely going to rent the inn for a family weekend. This place is a hidden gem - definitely check it out. You won't be disappointed.

If you want a wedding venue that your guests will rave about over and over, then look no further than Chatfield Hollow Inn. We knew from the moment we stepped foot on Ken’s property that there was no where else in the world we would like to get married. We started working with Ken in 2019 for our June 2020 wedding. Two postponements later and we finally had our big day in July 2022. Throughout the longggg planning process, Ken was there for us every step of the way. He not only answered our many questions, but also helped us with decorations, design, and everything in between.

When the weekend finally came for our big day, we were so excited to finally show our guests what we have been raving about for years. I cannot tell you how in awe our friends and family were with the venue. They couldn’t stop telling us how it was the greatest wedding venue they have ever seen. I think the venue got more compliments than we did that day 🙂

Ken and his team did such a great job executing everything and making myself and our guests feel at home. I also have to give a huge shout out to Team who took amazing care of my and my bridal party. He made me feel at ease and he honestly felt like my biggest cheerleader! I cannot recommend Ken and this venue enough!

My husband and I stayed here one night for our wedding anniversary. It was the perfect escape for the night, not to far from our hometown in Sandy Hook. We arrived in the afternoon and were warmly welcomed by Tema the innkeeper. He was so accommodating and made us feel right at home. The inn itself was amazing... a mid century modern dream! Our room was so clean and our bed was so comfortable. Coffee and tea were always available and breakfast in the morning was delicious! Before we left, we spent some time walking around the property. We saw adorable animals, gorgeous flowers and secret trails. Chatfield Hollow Inn is honestly one of the best bed and breakfasts we have ever been to!

Lovely Inn located in a beautiful, quiet part of Connecticut. I booked the Madison suite (blue wall, first floor) for myself and my parents for 1 night while I was in the area for work. The property was very well kept and had a number of benches to sit and read a book or relax. The pictures reflect the real life experience - clean, updated, attention to detail and private. Big rooms, comfy beds, great water pressure in a big bathroom. Tema, the Innkeeper was my favorite part of the stay. He is thoughtful, professional, kind and personable. I could not imagine a more gracious person well suited to welcome guests and represent the property. He also made a great breakfast for us with food from the farm - lovely touch. My parents (and I) really enjoyed talking with him, he has had a very interesting life. I imagine he had a lot to do but patiently answered their questions. Tema made the stay something more memorable for us. I have no doubt he would have simply checked us in without conversation if that's what we wanted, but he knows how to read an audience. Thank you for the hospitality 🙂

The Inn as a place to visit and the grounds as a wedding venue are both absolutely spectacular. The location was a stunning backdrop for a family wedding and the staff could not be more incredible. Ken is a phenomenal planner and Tema is a fantastic cook who provided us a wonderful breakfast for the weekend. This is excellent place either to visit and relax or to host your wedding.
