I recently had the pleasure of staying at Charles Cheney Inn, and it was an experience to remember! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with the warmth and hospitality that made me feel right at home. The inn is impeccably clean and beautifully maintained, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere.

The suites are nothing short of massive, offering plenty of space to relax and unwind. Each room is tastefully decorated, combining modern amenities with a cozy, home-like feel. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep, and the bathroom had an amazing tub. My daughter stayed in the tub almost 1.5 hours!

One of the standout features of Cheney Inn is the attention to detail -especially with all the books. As book lovers, we felt the books in our suite were selected especially for us. Imagine our surprise when we found a huge library off of the dining room in the morning! I'm sure "Belle" would have loved this library too. Every corner of the inn reflects a commitment to quality and guest satisfaction. The common areas are perfect for lounging, with comfortable seating and a welcoming ambiance.

Overall, Charles Cheney Inn is a gem. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful retreat or a comfortable base for exploring the area, this inn offers the perfect blend of comfort, cleanliness, and homey charm with breakfast. We can’t wait to return!

The Cheney Inn was stunning. The woodwork, decorating, and attention to detail in each room, shared and our room was beautiful. I have stayed at many Bed and Breakfasts over the years, and I have to say this was among the cleanest. The breakfast food was delicious and there was a wide variety of fruit, homemade, baked goods, oatmeal, English muffins, and eggs. Laura was great at communicating, the directions were clear, and the inn was quiet and peaceful inside and out. Our room, the grey room was anything but drab and I would say it was whites with red. It and our bathroom were exquisitely decorated, water pressure and temperature were perfect, and the bed was very comfortable. We would stay again for sure!

My boyfriend and I had the best anniversary weekend at the Charles Cheney Inn! Laura and her husband are incredible hosts. She puts out a breakfast spread every morning, and beyond that, even asked our preferences as to what she would make fresh. We stayed in the blue room and would highly recommend it to others! It is beautifully kept with a super comfortable bed. Bonus: The outside of the mansion is perfect for photos.

A fabulous 1864 manor, authentically decorated, and meticulously maintained. Beautiful and relaxing grounds. Spacious and comfortable rooms. Tasty treats, coffee, and teas always available. Overall an absolutely lovely Inn with charming and welcoming hosts, happy to advise about all there is to see and do in Connecticut. I could not have had a nicer two week stay!

Cannot sing their praises more. We came for an afternoon tea event to scope out a location for my bridal shower and it couldn't have been more perfect. We enjoyed the beautiful victorian decor and New England vibes. The food and tea were great. They have a good selection of teas and all the beautiful dishware to give you a true afternoon tea feeling. The tea sandwiches and bake goods were all delicious and well thought out. Will definitely be back for another event and possibly to stay overnight! Such a beautiful spot. Laura was wonderful to work with for the shower and was so accommodating. Highly recommend everyone check this wonderful spot out.

We had my daughter’s bridal shower at The Charles Cheney Inn Sunday August 16, 2020. The mansion is gorgeous, and Laura was an absolutely dream to work with. Very accommodating, thoughtful and super sweet. The food was delicious. Despite the rain we were able to utilize the outside under tents on either side of the Koi pond. My cousin also stayed at the Inn during that weekend. She loved it. It was everything we could have asked for and more. We would definitely go back for events or for the accommodations. Very lovely. Such a beautiful place to stay! Walking into the inn almost transports you back in time with the original decor. The hosts, Laura and John were so nice and very accommodating. Great conversations were had. While there, I hosted a small afternoon tea party with my friends. We munched on cute finger sandwiches and desserts. Everyone loved it. Al and I would definitely stay here again and again.

What a peaceful oasis in my hometown.|| ||John and Laura have put their heart and soul in maintaining this charming mansion. It is truly stunning here. From the outside gardens and koi fish pond to the attractive common areas, and then to my room, I savored every moment. My accommodation was in the "Grey Room" with a view overlooking the gardens. This warmly-decorated room had a comfortable queen-size bed with a chair and ottoman by the fireplace. The private bathroom had great water pressure in the restored tub/shower area. Complimentary Wifi and a tasty breakfast was also an extra plus. ||||Charles Cheney Inn is a great asset to the town. Located in the Cheney historic district, this English Tudor-style place is designated as a National Historic Landmark.
