Like I died and went to oceanic view heaven. This place was so perfectly perfect. Warm, quiet, tucked away, facing the entrance to the depoe so that I could sit on the couch or bed or IN THE HOT TUB and watch the ocean literally yards away. I am so grateful I found this discreet jewel. And I'm so grateful it was an adults only hotel. Yes, I adore my children, but when it's the few times I choose to get away from my kiddos I also enjoy not hearing other kiddos running above me or giggling in the next room. My new save haven ๐Ÿ’™

My wife and I spent a couple nights in the Bridge Suite #4 and absolutely loved it. The deck was private and had beautiful views of the ocean and bridge. Can't wait to stay again in the future!

I just want to review the one room. Carefully choose your room. I do not recommend the "Fore Deck". I wanted to come to the Channel House 5 years ago for our 25th wedding anniversary but had to cancel. So on our 30th, I tried again. I wanted it to be so much better. My main complaint is that the location of this room means that the soaking tub on the deck is completely visible to the folks coming to the OPRD Whale Watching Center across the narrow channel from the hotel. The visitors go to the outdoor viewing platform and look out at the ocean, then look at the channel, and then look up at you in your tub. But the hubby said, "It'll be better at night". Well, there is a light shining to light up the channel for safety I presume. It is LED and as bright as the sun, lighting up your deck, tub, and the inside of your skull. At first, I sat with my hand shading my eyes, but then we positioned the deck chairs so that if we sunk down a bit they would shade us. The room is small, but I thought it very comfortable, if there had been some sort of privacy wall/sunshade between my deck and the channel I would have enjoyed it sooooo much more. We did enjoy Depot Bay, breakfast at the Sea Hag, and dinner at the Tidal Raves. ||I recommend to the manager or owner to stay a night in each of these rooms and use them the way you think your guests will so that you can see where adjustments may be beneficial, and see what things need fixing-sliding glass doors, knobs on the cabinet...

We were unfortunately very disappointed in our stay at the Channel House. When we arrived we were shown to our room and informed that the source of heat was the fireplace in the room. The attendant then had to mess with the thermostat and pound on the fireplace to get it to turn on. Throughout our stay we were not able to get the fireplace on after it turned off even with trying the same technique of pounding on the glass. The view from the Bridge room is great but the room above it to the right can see right down into it if the window is open and the only option was to have it fully open with no curtains or fully closed with curtains. The same went for the hot tub on the deck. When we went to check out in the morning during business hours the office was still closed and there were no instructions on what to do with the key.

Overall itโ€™s a fine place but absolutely not worth the nightly rate with the other hotels in the area who offer a much better rate for much better service and care toward their guests.

First off, Dan at the front desk called me 3 hours prior to check-in time to let us know that the room was ready and we were welcome to come anytime!! What a bonus!! Next, We are so glad we had the chance to stay here! We loved everything about it! We stayed 2 nights in the Bridge Room #4, overlooking the wide open ocean, and the inlet to Depoe Bay Harbor. The view was unbeatable, the sound of the waves just amazing. We unfortunately did not see any whales, but the view was spectacular just the same. The room was very clean, very comfortable, well decorated, and two sliding glass doors that lead to the delightful jacuzzi tub on the balcony. We had an incredible sea breeze all night long with the doors open. There's also a very large picture window where we could sit on the couch and enjoy the view from inside the room. The sunset over the ocean, while sipping wine in the tub will be something I remember for a long time! We will definately be back! (I would try a different room next time, only because the tub took up most of the space on the balcony, so we couldn't really sit on the balcony, unless we were in the jacuzzi tub - which we were most of the time so it didn't really matter)|While at the Channel House - don't miss Mazatlan, the Mexican restaurant just 50 steps from the House, and the Horn Public House Brewery (get the Halibut and the chowder!) just a 5 minute walk across the bridge. We loved both places!|Thank you Dan and staff for a wonderful, memorable stay!

We spent two nights in The Commanderโ€™s Suite and absolutely loved everything about our stay. Pictures donโ€™t even do the views justice. The outdoor tub overlooking the ocean has to be one of the most relaxing places on earth. If we ever make it back out to Oregon we absolutely will try to stay at Channel House again. Perfect location for day drives north and south along the coast if you want to explore more of the coast outside of just Depoe Bay.

First of all, this review is for the property that is a second building, down the street. When I booked the room, it was not obvious that I was booking a something away from the listed property, so there is that. The building is closed in, dark, and frankly kind of creepy. The furnishings are all cheap and run down, and I did not feel like the room was worth anywhere near what I paid. The "hot tub" on the deck is a literal bath tub; you have to fill yourself, and ours was filthy. The paint was peeling, there were dead bugs and dirt and leaves in the tub, so we did not use it. Another real bummer was that the sliding glass door did not have a screen. We tried leaving the door open for a few minutes to get some air in the room, and had to close it due to bugs coming in.

The room didn't have assigned parking, and other people up and down the street had parked large trucks that kept us from parking close to the entrance. While the view was pretty, it was incredibly overpriced and I would not return.

I looked all over the Oregon coast for an ocean view room with a Jacuzzi, none looked quite like the experience that the Channel House offered. I booked room #2 The Captain's quarters for a romantic getaway, and it exceeded any expectations I may have had. The view and privacy were flat out amazing. You walk in the room and you can't help but say or think "wow"! The place was very cozy and quiet, well conditioned, and there was as much hot water as you could want. Honestly, don't hesitate or settle for anything else- I plan on coming back yearly!
