We stayed for just one night for a quick getaway. The service was great, staff was welcoming and helpful. The room was clean, elegant, spacious. We also had a nice view of the water.
The morning after the staff at the reception was friendly and recommended a couple of breakfast options, we picked one of the two and were super happy.

The location of course is the best if you are looking for a place near the center with easy access to all the services and entertainment.

We had a brief interaction with the hotel manager who was responsive, helpful, and friendly.

We spent the last night of our trip at Casa Madrona. We specifically chose this hotel for its boutique charm, peaceful location outside busy San Francisco, and beautiful setting near the marina — and it certainly delivered.

The hotel is located within walking distance of shops and restaurants; we had an excellent dinner at Barrel House Tavern with incredible views of San Francisco — highly recommended.

We booked a basic Upper Courtyard room (number 475 — worth remembering). The room was clean, nicely decorated, with a comfortable bed and a touch of sea view. The large bathtub for two was a lovely surprise and made for a relaxing evening.

At first, the bathtub stopper didn’t work properly and we couldn’t fill the tub, but the issue was resolved very quickly after we reported it — great service.

The bathroom included amenities tailored for women — such as make-up remover wipes — which we found thoughtful and useful.

However, there was one major issue: noise. The room is adjacent to an electrical utility and laundry room, which resulted in constant mechanical humming — like being on an airplane. It got worse in the morning. This is not what one expects at a hotel of this standard.

To their credit, the front desk staff kindly waived our parking fee as a gesture of goodwill.

Overall, the hotel is beautifully situated, well-designed, and has friendly staff. We would recommend it — but definitely advise against staying in room 475 due to the noise.

I truly enjoyed and had a memorable time at Casa Madrona Hotel and Spa. Upon walking in, Jim and staff greeted. I told him we just got wedding at the SF city hall and he even got us a bottle of sparkling wine to celebrate. Everyone was so welcoming and kind that I've never seen at any other hotel. Sincerely, everyone was enjoying serving the guests. The hotel was quiet yet right in the center of Sausalito. So convenient, clean, and the best hotel I've stayed in.||My husband and I talked about revisiting on our anniversaries. Loved it!

We went up to Marin County for a wedding and this was one of 3 hotels recommended in Sausalito. Our hillside cottage was 2 rooms plus a nice bathroom and had views that killed. The bed was comfortable, the furniture on the newer side and we were very happy!!! Our friends who stayed at the other places were jealous! staff

This is a very nice hotel in a perfect location in Sausalito. There are nice amenities and a spa on premises. There’s also a perfect parking lot in the upper back of the hotel. The staff is friendly, too. We had a marina-facing room with a balcony. There are outside sofas and fire tables. We would recommend this hotel to everyone traveling to Sausalito or even to the San Francisco area.

Love this Casa Madrona! I wanted to give a 5 star however, there was one thing that I hope gets fixed. We’ve stayed there several times and thought they needed to do upgrades. Well, when we stayed there a week ago, we noticed that they have been upgrading the entire hotel. The room we stayed in was absolutely beautiful!!! They surpassed what we would have expected in upgrades. The only thing was that there were these little ants in the bathroom. We noticed that the floors weren’t sealed properly, horrible job by the builder. Still a beautiful place and great job on the sunroom upgrades as well. Absolutely amazing! We will be back soon, hopefully they’ll do something about the unsealed floors in the bathroom and the ants situation.

Such an upscale, quaint, sophisticated, clean, quiet, spacious hotel, right across from the ferry and has excellent views of the bay. The hotel and rooms are well appointed with upscale decor. The restaurant downstairs is also great and open late for Sausalito. Excellent walking distance to everything. I’ll recommend this place to friends.

My company had a manager retreat here and the rooms and views are wonderful, meeting space was excellent, lots of great restraunts in walking distance. The planning staff was attentive and helped make it a productive and fun retreat.
