This is a terrific place to stay. The entire home is beautifully decorated with gorgeous antiques. All of the rooms are unique, sparkling clean, & comfortable. The owners are attentive, friendly, & helpful. The swimming pool area is an inviting oasis with plenty of seating areas in the shade or in the sun. The breakfast each morning is always special. The food is fabulous and the presentation is top notch. The Huron Boat basin, the Lighthouse, Nickel Plate Beach and some restaurants are close by. It's a short drive to many Lake Erie beaches & towns with lots of shops, restaurants, & fun things to see & do. I highly recommend a stay at this historic Bed & Breakfast.

I found this place about 4 years ago and promised my wife we would go there. I bookmarked it for the future. As our 10th wedding anniversary was approaching we were planning a trip to Dayton, OH so I built this into the trip.||I am so glad I did, Nancy has a beautiful home and she does a wonderful job of making folks welcome. She gave us suggestions for dinner, we took her advice of using a guest membership at the Huron Yacht Club, see my reviews elsewhere.||My wife and I stay in at least 2 B&Bs per year, this is by far the best we have seen. We stayed in Sarah's room, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was very good. The décor was very well done. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

We had a group of 12 people, 6 couples. We went for a one night get away and it was perfect. There was a pool which is very clean with an cute outdoor pavilion which allowed us to set up food and an outside bar and just hang by the pool for the day. The rooms in this B and B are all unique and really quaint. There is a kitchen to use for the guests. The next morning the owner, Nancy, and her family, cooked us all an amazing breakfast! The owners were extremely kind, accommodating and made us all feel right at home. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a beautiful old B and B with rich history. Ask Nancy, she will tell you all about Captain Montague's home.

If you are looking for a quaint, quiet, and great place to stay I highly recommend Captain Montague's. My wife and I just completed our second stay at the bed and breakfast. What was great this time was that we were the only ones staying the three days that we were there. That is not normal because it is usually very busy there. The anniversary room "Jenny" is a must if you go! Nancy, the host, is great and very accommodating to all our needs. The little pool area in the back is amazing. The breakfast served in the morning was delicious. Nancy also gave wonderful advice about what to do when traveling through town. Huron is a nice little town, and great for running in the morning. It is close to Cedar Point, far enough away from, but close to the highways to get you where you need to go. If you are looking for a place to stay, I would recommend Captain Montague's.

The most beautiful Bed & Breakfast & every room is exquisite and no 2 are the same. Each room has its private bathroom and all the rooms have black-out curtains. The atmosphere is so inviting & relaxing makes you not want to leave. The grounds are beautiful and the entire family is so polite and down to earth. To them, it's not just their business they enjoy meeting new people and finding new friends. Breakfast was was amazing like being at a very fancy restaurant. We will be returning every time we head to Cedar Point. We can’t wait to visit again. Thanks for making us feel so welcome. ♥️👍😊👏

My husband and I chose this location for a quiet getaway for our 20th anniversary. It was just perfect! We stayed in the anniversary room, which was beautiful! Amy and Sophia did a wonderful job taking care of us at breakfast and providing restaurant recommendations. The bed and breakfast is located within walking distance to the port, park, and restaurants. We enjoyed our stay at Captain Montague’s and highly recommend it!

We were a group of 5 ladies -- and we rented the entire house for 2 nights during the week in September. The house is impressive in size. It's a very sturdy, well-built home with wood cabinets and wood floors. Antiques fill the parlors and some of the furniture is true to the period of the house. ||||We felt right at home with owner Nancy who ensured that we had a perfect 2-day stay. She cooked our breakfast and catered to our every need. The bedrooms are beautiful and well appointed; and each has its own bathroom. Our rooms were all on the second floor; but one room is located on the first floor should steps be an issue.||||We enjoyed dinner at the nearby Huron Yacht Club our first night. The next day, we caught the Miller Ferry at Catawba for the trip to Put in Bay. Early September, after Labor Day, is the perfect time of the year to enjoy this island. We rented a 6-seater golf cart and visited Perry's Monument, the only peace memorial within the National Park Service; then went to the Boardwalk and enjoyed lunch outside at the Upper Deck. On the second night, we drove the short distance to Vermilion and had a very special dinner at the top-rated restaurant, Chez Francois.

Everything was absolutely perfect! I booked myself the Anniversary suite to celebrate my 30th Birthday. The house was absolutely gorgeous and I loved my room! Each and every breakfast each morning was absolutely delicious and presented very well. Captians is also within walking distance of a lot of local things to do. I walked to dinner one night. I walked to my massage in the morning then my pedicure after that. The beach and park are close to walk too as well. The pool and area by the pool were very nice and relaxing. Nancy (the host) is the absolute sweetest and so kind, she does a great job at making you feel very welcome and at home! I will definitely be back time and time again!
