I recently visited Cafe Intermezzo in Midtown Atlanta and had a pleasant experience overall. The atmosphere is lovely, and the service was great, thanks to our kind and polite waiter, Nick. I ordered the white chocolate hot chocolate with added hazelnut and caramel, which tasted good but unfortunately arrived at room temperature. A hot drink would have been much more enjoyable, especially on a chilly day.

For food, I had the croissant with egg and chicken sausage, along with a waffle topped with strawberries. The food was decent – nothing spectacular but still good enough not to complain. The eggs could have used a bit more seasoning, like salt and pepper, and the chicken sausage was overcooked and dry, possibly a better quality sausage could help. The potatoes, however, were fantastic! The portion sizes were generous, which I appreciated.

The restaurant serves food all day, so it’s great for anytime dining, but there are some areas where improvement could make a big difference. Overall, I'd give the food a 3/5, but the service and atmosphere were top-notch. I will not return to give it another try but was great I finally went to experience.

Another one of my go-to places near Midtown/Georgia Tech. Cafe Intermezzo is a nicer and late-closing cafe that has an upscale vibe with fast-casual midtown prices. I love that there is a place in midtown open past 8pm for dinner AND coffee.

This time around, I did not get myself a coffee, instead treating myself with a hot chocolate with liberal amounts of whipped cream. I was pretty surprised when they told me they did oat hot chocolate too! I appreciate the options as someone who is lactose intolerant. The decadent and creamy drink left my super sleepy by the end of the night. I ordered a seafood dip that comes with crunchy and fluffy dipping bread. The seasoning was perfect to bring a little heat and spice to the cream-based dip, and I love that they didn't skimp on the seafood. It was my partner's first time here and though we only got a few bites, he's already convinced we need to revisit on an empty stomach.

The waitress we had was kind and attentive. Usually Cafe Intermezzo gives up one of the three--good food, good service, good seating--but today we were met with all three! Would love to come again for drinks and cake.

Awesome place to sit down in a cozy atmosphere to have some dessert. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu but I had a hazelnut hot chocolate with a slice of hazelnut chocolate cheesecake. Both were out of this world. The cheesecake was so light and delectable. They said they are made in Italy and flash frozen and imported. You can definitely tell it’s made in Italy, the quality is so good.

Only challenge we had was that they were understaffed and even though our waiter was really good, he was running around like crazy. Took a while to get our check and get out and didn’t have the opportunity to check on us very often.

Overall I would definitely go back, so so so good!

I’ve been coming to Cafe Intermezzo for years and it just always gets the job done. One of my fav places for coffee, desserts, and pastries. Last night was my first time actually having an entree (after coming here for at least 10 years) and i was pleasantly surprised! I had the salmon pasta which was super rich and creamy! The capers made it a tad bit too salty but overall, it was delicious! My friend had the tomato basil pasta (no protein) and that was really good too! Way more savory compared to the creamy citrus flavors in the salmon pasta. We also had espresso martinis and I think cafe intermezzo has the best recipe for those. For dessert I got my fav, the B52 cheesecake! It’s so rich and creamy with a chocolate crust and cream cheese filling…there’s literally no other restaurant that has something that comes close. Cafe intermezzo also stays open late (midtown location closes at 12 midnight) and it’s a very cozy intimate place. Perfect for an intimate date.

We were in town this weekend from Austin for the Peach Bowl and were staying at Loews. Cafe Intermezzo was around the corner from our hotel. We visited Cafe Intermezzo twice (breakfast & dinner)and absolutely loved everything about it! Our servers were so nice and the food was divine! The cafe is beautifully decorated. Next time we visit Atlanta, Cafe Intermezzo will be our first stop. Thank you for great service and atmosphere.,

Our brunch experience at this place was fantastic. They offer some of the best coffee options on the menu. Hot chocolate was rich and the Cioccoloccino Bianco with white chocolate was delicious too. Weather was perfect so we were able to sit outside on the patio. Service was excellent. Definitely a must try if you're in the area.

Me and my girlfriend visited Atlanta for Spring Break as a much needed vacation. Hadn't heard anything specific about Café Intermezzo, walked in blind off the street. Absolutely earned a 5 star review. Danyelle is undoubtedly everything a server should or could be. She is warm, uber-attentive like you would be to family, sharp, funny, and had great hair too. We tried the coffee, Caffé Intermezzo and Caffé Mozart. The first was so almond in the loveliest way. My Mozart was great, bitter and dark roast with sweet whipped cream on top. Eggs Benedict is lifebringing, great ham and hollandaise. Omelette is awesome when we added hollandaise and hot sauce. Ambiance and music is great. The best part were the people. Danyelle. And our 10/10 Hosts Cece, Tifanny and Kevin, they answered a simple "where to go next?" question with the most hospitality, friendship, and effort I've ever seen. The 4 of those workers are going to do great things with their lovely outlook. Intermezzo (and we) were lucky to have them.

Four-Star Review: Café Intermezzo - Midtown

Came here for brunch with a party of three, excited for a dreamy European café experience. The host greeted us with what I can only describe as a spatial riddle—gesturing to three tables for two and asking, “Which would you like?” A bold move for a group of three. She then snatched a rogue chair from a neighboring table and squeezed it into the tiniest circular brunch battleground I’ve ever seen. We were practically in a group hug.

Our server was also a bit of an enigma—somewhere between quirky and existentially detached. Friendly-adjacent, but in a “you’ll figure it out” kind of way.

Thankfully, the food came in like a hero. Flavors? Immaculate. Presentation? Instagram-worthy. Portion size? Just enough to make you consider ordering a pastry afterward, which we obviously did.

All in all, Café Intermezzo gave us a delicious brunch and a mildly chaotic seating arrangement. 10/10 would return—with a collapsible chair and a sense of humor.
