We booked a trip to the Elephant Sanctuary and to Growler Pines Tiger Preserve and wanted a nice place that didn't feel like a cramped hotel. Well this was it for sure! AMAZING cabin style rooms super clean and had some fun activities like corn hole and a petting zoo as well as great view and porch swings. The best part... no TV. We were able to unplug and be outside! I loved waking up to the pig, rooster and turkeys fighting over a donut!

10 out of 10 will be back!!!! The location was quiet and secluded. The room was unique and beautiful. Customer support is above and beyond we had tornado warnings and sirens and the owner personally called to check on us and updated us on all available info for the storm. I received an email with details on directions and door code for my room the petting zoo was closed due to the rain however we still were able to pet from the fence. The animals are friendly and run up for pets and food. The area was poorly lite can seem sketchy ,but I was carrying also there are spot lights and cameras set up. My only complaint is there is no TV in the room. However a quick 5 min trip down to Walmart bought a cheap $100 smart TV problem solved. Amazing views ill take this over any hotel hands down.

It was cute and my daughter loved the cabin. It was well cleaned and maintained. I did think the petting zoo was open for longer than it was so that part was a bit disappointing. The view is beautiful and was a good spot to stay for our planned activities.

Do not recommend. Will not be returning. Poor experience overall. Besides what's listed below their customer service could use a real upgrade as well.

Poorly lit at night so after dark activities are out of the question.
Petting zoo is by appointment only, which they don't disclose before you arrive. They didn't answer the phone the morning my children and I were leaving. We called at about 1040am, she called back at 1:30pm after we had already left.

When I did get to speak to her on the phone she stated "well I have the petting zoo open from 9-10am everyday but I don't knock on doors."

She definitely doesn't let you know when you call to make reservations or find out information before your stay either.

Poor lighting outside to the point I had to use flashlights to make sure my 3 children and myself made it up the dark outside stairs to our cabin. I also had to use a flashlight in order to see to put the code in to get the key.

Room was adorable, my 2 littles enjoyed the bunk beds. There was no TV in the room, which would have been great if the outside had better light so we could play outside.

This place is awesome! I highly recommend. The owners are super nice. The cabins are very clean. The petting zoo is so fun. The animals are sweet and love the attention. My 2yr old granddaughter thought it was all really neat. This is a great family place.

We stayed in the Jail and it was awesome! We loved the theme and all the little details that matched it. Our favorite part were the animals ❤️

Unique, family-friendly accommodations with friendly owners!!! The petting zoo is excellent, as the animals are very friendly. Everything was exceptionally clean. I would recommend and will return. My two year old had a blast with the mine as well!!

REALLY, REALLY BAD COMMUNICATION AND CUSTOMER SERVICE! I made a reservation but when I arrived that evening, at 6:06 PM, there was no one around. I made multiple phone calls and left as many messages because no one was answering the phone. I had already checked in to a different place to stay when the owner called me. She said she had sent instructions and a key code via an e-mail. I checked and, sure enough, she had! But I don't use my e-mail account despite that the reservation site did ask for an e-mail address and I did give one. I would have never thought to check my e-mail for "instructions" before checking into anyplace I had reservations for! It was a case of bad communications from the get-go. I asked for a refund and did receive $100.00 of the $138.45 that my card was charged. I called and was told that she requires notification if a reservation is cancelled and reminded me that she had sent an e-mail with the instructions. Her exact words were, "I hate it but we require notification". Well, she obviously doesn't "hate it" too much because she kept $38.45 of my money and put forth zero effort in return. Couldn't even be bothered to answer her phone for over an hour's time. I ended up enjoying the casino , south of Hugo, so much more than I would have a stay at this place anyway! I had planned on giving Buffalo Trails a second chance but since she refused me a full refund I will go straight to the casino next time.
