I got the brisket plate, for 14 dollars I got at best 3 oz of meat that was dry. The sides were a cup at best, the beans were bland and the macaroni and cheese had mushrooms in them and tasted terrible. Overall I felt cheated for the price due to portion size and quality of food. I will definitely never eat here again and will not recommend. Keep driving into Athens as there are plenty of better BBQ options there.

If I could give them more stars I would, I have tried a lot of bbq since I moved down south and quite frankly it’s all been mediocre. Not here. Boss Dawg may be some of the best bbq I’ve had in a very long time. The ribs fall off the bone and melt in your mouth, the pull pork is perfectly smoked. And the brisket is full of flavor. Not a single piece of meat I have tried has fallen short of excellence. Really good stuff. I ordered the Christmas special and let me tell you. Best meal I have had in a long time . (My sides are in the picture) which are a family recipe. But they also just started doing sides are also delicious!

Hands down the best BBQ experience we’ve ever had! The food was absolutely phenomenal—perfectly smoked meats, incredible flavors, and sides that were just as impressive as the main dishes. But what truly set this place apart was the hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, ensuring every detail of our meal was perfect. Visiting from out of town due to hurricane evacuations and ran up on this little place. Some of the best brisket I’ve ever tasted and solid sides. Laid back atmosphere and friendly service. Diverse menu of bbq options and a tasty line up of sauces on the table.

We were traveling through and decided to stop here. The brisket is out of this world! Wish I had the recipe. Atmosphere was great and so was the staff. We've never heard of chicken mull but it was delicious too, and the slaw was perfect. 100% recommend.

First time going and I really enjoyed it the rib plate is definitely a 5 star. And there mac and cheese and slaw very delicious it's rare to find some good slaw. Definitely would go again.

We love Boss Dawg. Owners and staff are Great! I think now we have tried everything on the menu. Loved it all! We especially enjoy the country veggies and lunch they have started recently. Rarely do we miss a lunch it's that good!
