Perfect on all counts for location, cleanliness and charm (loved the Arts & Crafts details throughout). The choices for the continental breakfast and snacks were generous. Now that we have family in the area, we look forward to staying again as we didn't begin to exhaust all the possibilities of the neighborhood. Special shout out and thanks to the hosts for quickly arranging to mail the small items we'd forgotten in the room.

Traveling alone to see friends in Portland for a few days, I did not want or need an Airbnb all to myself, nor did I want to stay in a large hotel. The Bluebird Guesthouse was the perfect solution. Enjoyed a cozy stay in the first-floor Gabriel Garcia Marquez room. Comfortable room with a private bath, with its own heating/thermostat, which was very handy as it was very chilly when I was there. Nice common areas and generously stocked kitchen with everything one needs for a simple breakfast. Great location. The place was very quiet and peaceful despite being on a lively street. A great option for a solo traveler.

The Bluebird is a terrific find! It’s a big old house with tremendous charm and character. We had our own “private” bathroom and shower, which was totally true, but we had to chuckle in that it was “down the hall” from our room. We didn’t care, but I could see that wouldn’t be for everyone. The hotel provided some comfy bathrobes for our use.

The room was quiet, the AC worked great. The “help yourself” kitchen had loads of teas, great coffee, snacks, and noshies for breakfast. Conveniently located for our needs. A real gem.

Absolute oasis and delight! Great location amongst food carts, shops and restaurants, vintage clothing stores, and the Hawthorne theater concert venue. The house is a true gem and historically accurate. Lots of hidden treasures to be found.

Gluten free foods are available! 🙂

Of special note, the staff was phenomenal! So kind and helpful. The home was immaculate. Cleanest restrooms I think I’ve ever seen.

Cozy B&B in hip Portland district. Lots to walk to. Very comfortable beds and pillows. Self serve continental breakfast. Lovely old guest house, easy check in. Occasionally Spotty wifi.
Parking was a bit hit and miss.
Only negative comment was in terms of accessiblity - there is no railing on the right side of the entry stairs and the gate swings to the left, so was impossible for somewhat impaired to navigate solo.

A perfect stay! Really enjoyed the Le Guin room, the well-stocked breakfast kitchen, and cozy sitting areas. Location and staff communication were also great. Would definitely return!

We were in town for one evening and had other commitments. In an ideal world, we would have stayed here for a few days, enjoyed the restaurants and neighborhood, and the ambience of the house. We stayed in the Beverly Cleary room with a bath and shower, and had everything we needed. We live in a quiet place, so we noticed the street noise. The breakfast was perfect. We had many choices and served ourselves.

This was a comfortable and easy stay, that is right in the middle of great Portland breweries, food, and shops. The Beverley Cleary room is spacious and has a wonderful en-suite bathroom. The communal kitchen was stocked with snacks and delicious breakfast basics. I throughly enjoyed my stay, and would do it again.

Small note- in booking they ask that no young kids stay due to noise, which now makes a lot of sense. It’s very quiet here but that’s because of respectful guests around me. You can easily hear noise in the hall.
