I want to start by saying that the staff at this property were fantastic. They worked hard and did their best to assist us. However, my main issue is with the regional manager, Philip, who refused to provide his last name.

During my recent stay over the weekend, we encountered several issues. The air conditioner was problematic, the television didn’t work for the entire stay, and we even had to carry a plunger to the bathroom each time we needed it. This level of inconvenience was unacceptable. Upon checkout on Sunday, I simply requested some additional reward points as a gesture for the trouble we experienced.

Today, I received a call from the regional manager, Philip, who spoke to me in a condescending manner, as if I were a child. Without even discussing the situation with me or hearing my side, he informed me that he had unilaterally canceled my upcoming reservation in two weeks, displaying a complete lack of professionalism. He didn’t bother to consult me first, which I found disrespectful.

Philip, just so you know, I have already reached out to corporate headquarters to file a formal complaint. Regardless of whether you’re a third-party manager, you still violated policies with your behavior. I hope you enjoy writing up those reports, as I’ve made sure your actions are being reviewed at a higher level.

To anyone considering a stay at this hotel, I would strongly advise against it. The property is not particularly clean, much of it is outdated, with chipped paint on the walls and mold in the showers. Spend the extra $20 and stay at a La Quinta instead. Good luck, Philip.

The room smelled musty and like it had mildew…… and the worst part is this is at best an $80 a night hotel that over charged $369 since there was a football game at the university…… that stinks …. Literally . Bed was uncomfortable and bathroom is in serious need of an update. I hate the sink is not in the bathroom

We were moved three separate times due to the air not working in one room, roaches in another, & the last room had dirty wash clothes in it. When we wanted to get a refund after moving twice we were told we could continue moving until we found something that fit our accommodations or we could check out after one night & get a refund for the next day. Even though the refund wouldn’t or couldn’t be refunded without the managers approval Monday (she was there the next day despite saying that) None of which would work because we had a sick toddler & it was 12/1am in the morning. Not only were there rooms with issues but I had a family member get sick & was charged $75 for stained linens when half the linen was placed in a corner already dirty. It was a terrible experience to say the least however the breakfast and attendant were great.

Stayed there during my daughters move-in at University of Alabama. Rooms were clean, hotel grounds were kept up in order. Pool and pool area was clean and in order. Breakfast was hot and filling. Room rates were affordable compared to other hotels in the area.

Stayed for one night. Was ok for our needs. Had a nice pool. Was slightly confusing entering the parking lot as there is another building we thought was the hotel . Felt safe and had no concerns. Good buffet breakfast. Friendly staff. Rooms were sufficient for our needs . Nice little outside pool

Breakfast was amazing for both meat eaters and plant based people. Very clean stay overall with the minor exception below. Comfortable beds, Safe area and quiet. All of the staff were polite. The morning desk rep and the breakfast dining room rep were above and beyond kind. The evening desk staff definitely did all the things a front desk person should do as far as a checklist, ask what we needed, said thank you for being a diamond member, tell us all the facts answered all the questions with excellent knowledge but had such a cold delivery. Literally all she needed was a little warmth and the service would have been stellar.
Room was very clean and comfortable with one exception on a stain right in the middle top of the flat sheet that made us wonder if it was just a permanent stain or an unwashed sheet:). This was so minor given the rest of the excellent stay. Just what we needed. Excellent value for the price.

We love to stay at Best Westerns when we can . Each location seems to be a little different. This was a stop over with the family for vacation. We got a non smoking, no pet room with 2 double beds and a microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker. All rooms have outside access like a motel, facing a cute courtyard with a pool. The room smelled clean and fresh. Beds were soft, fluffy, sagged a little, but we're very comfy. Breakfast was good with an option to make a large waffles, or 4 mini waffles. Hint-flip them a second time! I liked the chocolate chips, strawberry compose, and blueberry compose toppings. There were cookies to self grab at check in-nice touch.
Cons- No elevators. A coffee pod was left in the in room coffee maker. Bar Soap residue was still on soap dish under new wrapped bar on sink. After grabbing two different off white wash clothes, wetting them, and finding tan/brown stains on them, I threw them away. Which is where they should have been. The tub and tile had deep ground in soap scum that I guess they couldn't fully get clean. Needless to say, non of us took bathes. There was no Bible, alarm clock, channel guide, or writing pad or pen, standard items for Best Westerns.
In the breakfast room my spouse saw a guest drop a serving utensil on the floor and tried to hand it to the attendant and told her what happened, only to be told,"It's ok" and motioned for her to put it back. Umm, we were done eating! There was a bit of a language barrier I believe. There was no waffle mix in the serving container. Guests had to take their little cups to the attendant to fill from the kitchen.
I would still consider staying again since I'm sure these were over sites.
Just a mention...as a Platinum member, there was no welcome letter, no standard free bottle of water and snack, and no mention of the additional complimentary extra 500 points for staying.
