We originally had a reservation at another hotel about 3 minutes away. They called and moved us to Best Western Plus River Escape due to some plumbing issues. It was a nice surprise to step out onto the balcony and see a river flowing! It was very nice. The room was very clean. The check in guys were pleasant and helpful. The sweet lady that watched over the breakfast area was kind and asked several times if we needed anything. This was a great stay while we were visiting Western Carolina University.

Great spot by the river. They really make it easy to enjoy the outdoor space. Easy access to the surrounding areas for outings. Room was nice and big. Breakfast could have been better. However, the staff was amazing. From Will at the front desk to the lady at breakfast. Just super nice and friendly. Would stay again if I was in the area.

We were in town for 4 nights and had the best experience! The room was clean and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was typical, except no eggs due to the elevated price of eggs these days. The river ran right by our balcony and we left the door open almost every night, enjoying the sound. Our fire alarm started chirping one evening and Will came right up and changed the battery. In fact, Will was absolutely a ray of sunshine, giving us good tips on places to eat and just adding cheer to our day as we passed by the front desk. His attitude was wonderfully infectious!

The only complaint I would have is the lighting in the bathroom was a bit too dim (but I have old eyes). And the end of the bathroom towel hook was broken, but it wasn’t a big deal. Highly recommend this hotel. Very nice place to stay!

This hotel is very clean. The beds are super comfortable. The best thing about the hotel is the customer service hands-down!! Will has been the most responsive and best customer service representative at a hotel I have ever met! The man needs a raise and a week off with double pay! He’s that awesome! I would recommend that you stay here. The only drawback is the hotel is kind of out the way, but it has a fantastic view of the river outback!!

First I will say that we loved our stay here and I can see us going back one day. I gave four stars because I feel that the indoor pool could have been warmer during the fall and winter. The doors to the outside patio locked us out during morning hours of breakfast. Now speaking of breakfast I give it and the lady working it above five stars, she was super and you could tell she loved her job and everyone who visited the hotel. The location of the hotel is great. Honestly, you would never realize a hotel would be located where it is located, and the river is beautiful. I sum this up as if you want that inexpensive get away from everyday busy life then go stay here. Absolutely no hustle and bustle to deal with.

This hotel was ok for a couple nights; no big complaints but something just does not click about it. Fairly new facility; ample parking; front desk had only one attendant and sometimes she was not there for a bit. Awful boring uncomfortable modern decor; first thing you see when you walk in is the breakfast area and the seating areas for the lobby with fireplace are hidden off to the sides; could be cozy visiting area but did not look comfy; fireplace was never lit except at breakfast even though it was quite cold outside. Rooms were ok; plenty of nice towels, very welcome! And spacious. Beds were not good, big marshmallows. Everything you put on them fell off, including yourself! Not a comfortable chair in the room despite plenty of room for one, just two straight chairs at a table. Bath was clean but had those awful dispensers in the shower and very little else; cheap! Breakfast was ok; paper and foam plates and cups; scrambled eggs, bacon, pancake machine, decent pastries and donuts; coffee and juices; friendly attendants. Nice room balcony overlooking river; Terrance overlooking river off lobby. 9 year old son enjoyed indoor pool, which was clean. Room had tiny closet barely big enough for a few coats and clothes and no luggage. OK for a short stay, but probably would not stay again if I could find something else for the price locally due to the uncomfortable rooms. Mainly stayed here due to the indoor pool for the kid to work off energy after a long drive and the river views.

This was our second time staying here in a year and it didn’t disappoint! The room was clean and beds so comfy. Love the black out curtains we got to sleep later than normal! We had a balcony room and listening to the river is sooo peaceful! The breakfast is very good with Lots to choose from they even a cappuccino/latte machine.

Positive: I booked this hotel for the indoor pool. I DID NOT NOTICEHOURS WERE 10AM TO 10PM. Gentleman at front desk aWas so kind to let my Granddaughter and I have early access. We checked out at 9:45 am. That was so nice. Negative: TV channels were basic. For price they need an upgrade. In the morning at breakfast There were a construction crew taking up the whole lobby and eating area. That was uncomfortable. If they were guests They should of sat together. Not spreading out
