It's amazing how few breakfast destinations there are locally compared to other communities. We decided to try Bear Necessities because they were relatively close to the cabin we were staying in for a couple of days. The cafe was more of a coffee shop with light eats. It took a good bit of time to get our food but everything was pretty tasty.

During our last day in Dahlonega, we stumbled upon Bear Necessities Cafe, a quaint local coffee shop that turned out to be a delightful find. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a morning coffee and breakfast.

We started with a couple of Americanos, which were decent and set the tone for a pleasant experience. My wife opted for the breakfast sandwich, while I went with the highly recommended August. Both dishes were delightful, and we would encourage anyone to try either one.

To top off our visit, we couldn't resist trying one of their famous scones. It was amazing—soft, fluffy, and just the right amount of sweet. Paired with the Americano, it was the perfect end to our meal.

Bear Necessities Cafe is definitely a must-visit if you're in Dahlonega. Whether you're looking for a good cup of coffee, a light breakfast, or a delicious scone, this charming cafe has something for everyone.

This café is a beautiful spot with plenty of uniquely themed rooms, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The food display is adorable, and the presentation is well thought out. Barista Kelly was friendly and attentive, answering all our questions with a smile. I ordered a 12 oz oat milk latte for $6, which was enjoyable. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely return if we’re in town again!

Bear Necessities Café is a must-visit every time I’m in Dahlonega! The cozy atmosphere and wonderful service make it such a welcoming spot. Their coffee is amazing, and I always enjoy trying their specialty drinks. The food is delicious, and the pastries are just as great. It is on the pricier side for a café, but the quality and experience make it worth it. Definitely a great place to stop by when visiting Dahlonega!

What a great find outside of the downtown Dahlonega Square. The food was amazing and different. My wife and I had the THE AUGUST- Avocado toast topped with Crushed Red Pepper, a tomato-garlic confit, burrata cheese, drizzled with a balsamic glaze. We also had side salads with Strawberry Vinaigrette. My wife is not a fan of garlic and she loved it. So refreshing and lots of Great Coffees and Lattes to chose from. Don't get me started on the pastry section. 5 Starts all around a must stop on your way into town for breakfast or lunch or on your way out. Thank You D and D

This is an adorable coffee shop. Plenty of seating. Good food (we got a bacon breakfast sammie on an everything bagel), great coffee (get the flight!), and relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Service was prompt and efficient. I can't decide which latte was the best as they were all delicious. Definitely worth the early morning drive up from Cumming.

This place is all about the atmosphere. We had breakfast and I must say I was disappointed. Food looks good, but it’s more appealing to the eyes than delicious. Super small coffee cups (ice coffee), hot chocolate doesn’t taste right and the color of it was grayish (never seen or tasted anything like it). Prices are high! $70+ for 3 breakfast sandwiches and two tiny ice coffees. 👎

Such a relaxing and inviting vibe from the moment you walk in the door. The decor was gorgeous and so cozy. Simple but a touch above the everyday options for breakfast and lunch. Unlimited coffee and tea options. Flights available for coffees and teas, hot or iced. I ordered the avocado toast (The August) and shared a coffee flight with friends. Although our wait was a touch long due to some staffing issues, they went above and beyond to let us know they appreciated our patience. Such a great experience. We will definitely come back.
