When we travel, we venture out of the hotel for our coffee by visiting local coffee roasters. The service at Beam Roast Coffee was very personable, and our two drinks were outstanding. I appreciate a good local coffee roaster, and BRC hits the mark in all of the areas for a roaster and local coffee shop. The picture of the menu seemed limited online, but they offer a great selection of handcrafted drinks. If we’re in the area again, BRC is definitely worth another visit. We enjoyed a pour over coffee and a cinnamon roll oat milk latte.

Sweet couple and cozy atmosphere! I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but very much enjoyed their chai latte and their seasonal apple cider! My husband loved their coffee blend. Great place to buy a bag of coffee beans and support a small local business.

What a lovely little spot! I mapped myself over to grab a drink for the road a couple of weeks ago. This coffee shop seems pretty out-of-the-way (to me at least -- but I'm not a local so maybe I'm missing something), to the point where I thought maybe my GPS was wrong. But it wasn't, so if you check this place out, have faith in Google maps! Lol. The signage is a little small but I promise it's there! It's near Austin High School and behind a small gas station/mini-mart.

There's a spacious parking lot out front and a small patio for nicer days than the day I visited. It was super quiet and cozy inside, and it smelled great! I saw one person working on his laptop, and I'd definitely agree that this is a great place to hunker down and focus. It's mostly a table and chair setup but there's a couch too, iirc.

Service was a highlight -- the barista was super kind and bubbly and eager to help with all my questions. She listened to what I liked and provided several excellent recommendations. I can't remember the exact name of the drink I got because I delayed too long between visiting and writing this review, but it was a specialty mocha of some sort, either the Smithy Special or the Beam Bonfire. I'd guess the Smithy Station as I'm not usually super into marshmallow stuff. Whatever I had, it was sweet, smooth, creamy, beautiful, and an appropriate size for the fairly low price. I'd get it again!

They have small, typical coffeeshop snacks (think pastries, etc) and change up specials depending on the time of year. I'm in Decatur somewhat often for work, especially during the winter months, and this may be one of my new preferred coffee shops. Thanks for a nice first visit!

Great little coffee shop in Decatur. The owners were super-friendly to talk with and the drinks were amazing. If you are in the area it's worth a stop!

I’m a bit of a coffee connoisseur, so when I travel, I go out of my way to find the best coffee I can. This place did not disappoint. I bought a bag of their Ethiopian, put some in a burr grinder, and used a french press. Excellent. I’m from a part of south Florida where you can’t throw a stone without hitting 3-4 local coffee shops, have traveled extensively over seas, trying some of the best coffee there is. This new little roastery in Alabama truly holds its own. What a pleasant surprise, Beam Roast is a gem in Decatur.

Thanks, Google, for finding me some great coffee! Involuntary spending my weekend in Decatur, it was work related, in need of coffee, I've discovered this beautiful establishment.
The coffee is great, and the owners are super polite and friendly.
I drove my semi truck from the hotel, and it was well worth it. If work will bring me back to Decatur, I know where to find great coffee.
Never settle for mediocre coffee. Choose Beam Roast!

One of the best coffees I’ve had in a while! They roast their own beans and have everything from Ethiopian pour overs to flavored lattes. Inside is cozy, they just opened a year ago and everything inside is new and clean.
