It wasn't an awful experience, but it also wasn't great. We reserved ahead and when we arrived, the office was closed so I called the phone number. No answer. Called again and got the manager or owner who took my credit card # on the phone and gave verbal directions to get to our site. The site wasn't level and there was no sewer included. $65 seemed steep for what we got. A housekeeper popped by to tell us the code for the bathroom. We didn't use it so not sure what the bathrooms were like. We left the following morning - there is a dump station on your way out - but while packing up weren't greeted or checked on by the owner or manager who was having what sounded like a less than enthusiastic team meeting with some staff. Place seems a little run down. It was okay for a 1-night stopover once we were able to get our camper level'ish. Very quiet, but overpriced compared to some other places we've stayed for the same or less $ with full hookups and more amenities. I don't think we'd stay here again.

I REALLY want to give a higher review, because the people here were pleasant and friendly. Unfortunately, the price is just faaar too high for what it is. Only 30a and water at site. There's a dump station, but i didn't use. The size of the pull thrus is good, and they're level, but unfortunately they're in standing water. My power pole was literally surrounded by 4" of standing water. I don't have boots, not a platform to put my cord on to keep it out of the water, and no help was offered. Many of the rvs look unkempt, and there's a lot of junk everywhere. The price is $66+ for this (i paid half with passport America, and that's still too much).

Old but quiet and comfortable campground. Water and elec at each site with a dump station when leaving. The price is a bit high but it is California and prices are higher. We were without water for an afternoon and following morning due to some pipe work which will be continued into upgrades to the site. Bathroom was clean but again old but a rebuild is in the works. All in all I would stay here again. Very close to the Avenue of the Giants (Hwy 254) drive that is awesome. Near access to the ocean and lots of places to drive. Zero cell service on my T-mobile account, but I purchased a Travlfi wifi connector and it worked great.

Couldn’t be happier. We camped here (Tent) on a whim after a long day hiking the Redwoods. Called late in the day, had no issue reaching the owner/operator on the phone and securing a spot effortlessly. (That’s a big deal.. many other tent campsites require more advance booking, and everything was Full.) We were quite surprised to find that he has quite a large, and stunningly beautiful camping section off away from the RVs in a redwood grove. Wow, was it beautiful. The facilities were in good shape, the owner was kind and gracious, and we had the entire redwood grove to ourselves despite it being late august in the redwoods. See attached picture of our tent, and how each campsite has a picnic table and fire pit. We would gladly return any time we’re back in the area and choose his campground over a Park or KOA type place. Thanks!

I love staying here. We've stayed in the dry cabins (fridge, microwave, bunk beds, no linens) and the Stump House (charming, cozy 2 story/room Tree house w linens and heater no bathroom).
While the accomodations are not luxurious ( -the dry cabins do carry the smell of damp a bit and you have a bit of a hike to the bathrooms) there is a beautiful calm accross the entire site.
It's clean, quiet (except for a tiny bit of reassurimg highway hum) and well run. The Stump House is a piece of art. I"ve had the best sleep of my life there. + You can't beat sitting around a fire after a long day of traveling.

Stayed in the Stumphouse — as a former woodworker, I was in heaven. Of course, albeit beautiful this is a bare-bones bi-level cabin, one queen one twin, no sheets. Good electric heaters. But beyond that, pack like you’re camping. The fire pit has a good cooking grate.

My fiance and I stayed in the stump house for one night. It is a rustic cabin built into an old redwood stump. We loved it! There appear to be two rooms accessed separately, one on the "ground floor" and one built above that accessed by some stairs. We were only given access to the upstairs room, so assume they sometimes rent the lower room out separately (not sure). The upstairs room has a queen-size bed and a space heater. Built-in shelves and a headboard are polished cross sections of a large tree trunk, very rustic and beautiful. There is also a balcony with a camp chair on it. I did not see any bugs in the cabin. You have to bring your own bedding and use the campground bathrooms, which are not far away and reasonably clean. Would stay again.||||My only complaint was that when we checked in, the man in the office had no record of my calling and reserving the stump house several weeks earlier. Thankfully it was available anyway, but he was not apologetic at all about the mix-up.||||Oh--and the wifi doesn't work--but this was not a big deal to us as it was campground, after all.

We stayed here in our van on a road trip from San Francisco to Portland. I think of all the RV parks/campgrounds we stayed at along the way, this was in my top 3. We got in late which was such a hassle (if not impossible w/o a reservation) at a lot places, but there was an older gentleman at the front window that got us all set up. Price was the most affordable of the trip. The women's bathroom has a code to get in which I really appreciated showering late at night. Bathrooms and showers were clean (there are water stains, but it's clean) and no one else came in any time I used them. Campground was quiet and felt safe. As other reviews have mentioned, there are long term residents here- it's an RV park, not sure why that would dissuade you from staying here.
