Wonderful property, totally unexpected, European style hotel with state of art waterfall shower, remote control heat and a/c, super comfortable bed and pillows, Eames style retractable lounge chair, huge flatscreen tv w streaming, even complimentary hot breakfast. Easy parking onsite and great vending machine too! Angie the manager was lovely and had excellent dinner suggestions. Very pleasantly surprised!!

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely hotel. Jessika greeted us warmly and made sure we had everything we needed. She even delivered extra pillows. The room was clean and modern and the beds were very comfortable. The free breakfast was delicious and made from scratch. They definitely go the extra mile in terms of quality! Highly recommend!

I had an extended stay in the two bedroom suite. The location allowed me to easily walk to all the shops and the campus. Make sure not to leave before filling up on an amazing breakfast cooked by their very own Chef Matthew. I highly recommend the biscuits and gravy or the actual eggs he’s cracking. This hotel is a step above the rest. All the employees show a tremendous amount of pride in the hotel, which shows in their work and attitudes. A special thanks to Matthew and Ben for their wonderful and helpful conversations with my daughter and I.

We chose to stay here for OU Mom’s weekend. It is located near to rental homes and the area where most of the restaurants and shops are located. Service was amazing and so was the complimentary breakfast they offer with your stay. Matthew made us eggs and bacon that were amazing!

The location of Athens Central is perfect!! You are literally steps from Court Street and OU. Staff is so very friendly and helpful!! Rooms are clean, stylish, and the SHOWER — it’s to die for!! And don’t forget the complimentary drinks and breakfast!! If you have a child at OU, or just want to visit to shop, this is the Hotel where you need stay!!

This is my preferred hotel when visiting my OU Bobcat, or generally visiting the Athens area. The hotel is top notch, very modern and an all around wonderful place to stay and relax while visiting Athens, OH.

One of the favorite parts of the Athens Central and always high on consideration is the staff. Everyone is smiling, has a pleasant attitude and always willing to help.

During my most recent stay in January of 2025, Ben was very helpful and quickly turned around my stressful day. He was able to accommodate a couple special requests quickly and without question, and he was very welcoming during every interaction in the lobby, even as he was busy helping other guests. Ben was super-awesome and one of the big reasons this hotel and its staff are so great; it all makes for an easy choice of where to staff while visiting Athens, OH.

We were greeted warmly at arrival by Angie. She provided complimentary water for us. The TV in our room was not working properly so I called down and Angie offered us a new room and came up and helped us move to the new room and checked to make sure everything was good before leaving. She was very cheerful and happy to help us.
The breakfast was very good. Real eggs and bacon. The juice was good not thick and syrupy like many hotels.
We will come back if in the area.

Angie checked us in and was very friendly and polite. Gave us some suggestions of restaurants that were walkable. Met Michael at breakfast the next morning. It was a very good included breakfast and again Michael was friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back!
