The bunk room has 2 of the most unfriendly people taking care of it....they complained of noise in the morning even though it was after quite hours were over and all I did was have a conversation with a fellow room mate. They didn't introduce themselves and seemed generally annoyed that people were staying there....would not recommend.

Stayed in a private room for one night. This is a really lovely hostel with super cool tile decor on the outside, and my partner and I enjoyed our stay. Kyle greeted us upon arrival and showed us around. We were provided with clean sheets and towels. The kitchen is big and well stocked. About a 15-20 min walk from downtown and ample parking. Bed was comfortable and the hostel was nice and clean. We would definitely stay here again!

Came here during the summer for my master's program so I really only needed a place to sleep. I was pleasantly surprised by how welcoming, clean, and peaceful this hostel was. The staff were very chill and helpful and the common area was kept very clean. It is in a very quiet part of town and walking distance to all of the points of interest in Ashland. Whether you are staying for a night or for three weeks like I am, this place is perfect. I already made my reservation again this summer.

My experience was excellent. I was impressed by the overall cleanliness, order, and atmosphere of the place. The kitchen and common room are spacious and pleasant. Atmosphere is peaceful. The guests I shared it with were friendly and respectful, and I had many good conversations. Bunks are comfortable. Windows offer beautiful views of the hills. The hostel is an easy 10 minute walk to the downtown. Excellent overall value. I am eager to bring friends and relatives here in the future.
My only complaint: check-out time is very early (10am) compared to other places. In my experience, it is typically 12pm - 2pm. It would be nice if guests were given a bit more time.

As a solo woman traveling up the coast, I had been concerned about finding a safe and affordable option to break up my trip. Ashland Commons is both of those things and more - the beds are super comfortable, the whole place is extremely clean, and the bathrooms, bedrooms, and kitchen are all well-stocked with everything you need. On the way up I was expected to arrive close to midnight, so the staff thoughtfully called me ahead of time to share check-in information and sent me texts with helpful pictures and other information I might need (had absolutely no problems following the detailed directions). I enjoyed my stay so much that I booked another stay on my way back, and would highly recommend anyone roadtripping up/down the coast to do the same!

So Ive been staying at the Ashland Commons for about two weeks now, and I have to say they really came in clutch, they never fail to be super friendly and respectful, the rooms are really spacious and they do an excellent job at keeping it clean, and the other people staying here are also super chill and friendly. My overall experience with this place has been really positive. When I first came here I had issues with my payment and banking, the money came out of my account and they didn't receive it. It took over a day to solve it and instead of just kicking me out they worked with me and helped me resolve the issue. I can't think of many places that would do that to be honest. And while I'm staying here I currently don't have a residence, and I signed up for a program that helps people in my situation, but I had to get verification that I am currently homeless. They sent an email to the organization I was trying to join explaining my experience and that was really helpful. I get the feeling that instead of seeing people just as dollar signs and customers, they see people as ACTUAL people and treat them as such. They genuinely care about the people they come across and in my experience that's not something you see very often. Also the building itself is really pretty. The entire building is covered in really cool art. I was honestly blown away by it when I first saw it. And the location of the Ashland Commons is also very conveniently located. I don't have a car so I have to walk everywhere or take the bus, and the bus stop is really close by. And downtown is only like a 15 minute walk. Also it has an amazing view of the mountains. Tbh I don't know what I would have done without this place.

I'm a PCT hiker and I stayed here for 4 days and I highly recommend this place. Azraiel was awesome. He runs a tight ship and makes sure everyone is respectful of others. It's a very clean place. Downtown Ashland is close. Easy to resupply. Highly recommend .
