We stayed here one night and had a good night's sleep. The staff was friendly and helpful, and it was very quiet. We also enjoyed that the motel is close to a lot of restaurants. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower had good water pressure. We also enjoyed the full complementary breakfast; I had scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and cranberry juice. The only downside was that our room, while reasonably clean, was dated and needed some minor repairs.

We had been told that the pool had been open when we called ahead and when we arrived we were told that it was closed and had been for a long time! We had just spent 11 hours in the car and specifically chose this hotel for the pool because we wanted to get our wiggles out. A major disappointment.
The room was disgusting with stains in the walls and carpet. Mold growing in the shower. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Great little place. I travel a lot and see the issues others have written here, but they're minor in comparison to what I've seen this year. The lobby and breakfast were very nice and offset any housekeeping issue and the minor room maintenance items. My only concern was the back door of the hotel, far away from the lobby was broken. You can't open from the outside and I saw people propping it open with a large rock from the landscape. This MUST be repaired ASAP as it poses a security risk to the Guests and the Staff, leaving the Hotel liable. I hope the pool will reopen soon, such a waste not getting to use it.

The McAlester AmericInn has great potential, but fell short for my recent stay. The pool was down for maintenance, the WiFi reminded me of the days of 56k dialup modems, the keys constantly needed to be reprogrammed for the room, and the outside doors don’t lock. Maintenance had started repairs around the property, but they appear they left them unfinished quite some time ago, like exposed plumbing and missing sections of carpet. Breakfast was the standard hotel fare, and the lobby was very nice, as was the front desk staff. Everything above was disappointing, but by no means a deal breaker, until we came back to our room the first evening to find roaches in the bathroom. We checked out immediately after we found another room.

There under a fair bit of construction right now and the doors don't fully closed on there own so you gotta be mindful, but the bathroom was amazing, and the bedding was excellent. Staff was nice and fast.

I loved the cozy feel of this Inn! The decor was really neat and old timey and made me feel at home. Very nice staff as well. Comfy, clean, and quiet! They also kept my belt I left in the room and had it for me when I returned, what service!

This hotel is a poor choice for anyone wanting to enjoy their weekend away. The pool and hot tub are closed and appear to have been closed for months. There were hairs in the bed and crumbs on the floor. Everything appears to have been neglected for years. It was an embarrassment to invite our friends to stay here with us. Our stay has literally ruined what was an otherwise great getaway. If anyone is looking to stay somewhere, take my advice and pay the extra money and stay somewhere else.

I picked this hotel because it was rated #2 in McAlester. That’s a complete joke. I’m frankly more angry with trip advisor, than the hotel itself, for misleading me. I could have stayed at the motel 6, for half the price, and the experience would have been the same or better. I didn’t stay at the motel 6, because I wanted a better experience than that. The pool, hot tub, and guest laundry are all out of order, and appear to have been that way for years. My first indication that the hotel would not live up to expectations and a when we pulled up and saw that the exterior was definitely not well cared for. We went inside and checked in. The staff member at the desk was extremely nice. We went to our room and went in. The first thing we noticed was that the room smelled extremely wet. I searched around the room for mold or a wet spot, I didn’t find anything. I went into the bathroom and the light fixture was broken. The shower was dripping profusely, even though it was off. At this point, we considered going to a different hotel, but my stay was non-refundable. I tried to lock the door, and found that the door doesn’t even latch, much less lock. I pushed on the door quite hard and it would never latch or lock. We went back up to the front desk and told them about it. The guy said that it was “weird” and “a new one”. Like he had never heard of that before. He gave us the room next to our original room. It also smelled wet, but not as bad as the first room. The door worked, and the shower didn’t leak. We decided to stay, but were still unhappy, and worried about the cleanliness of the room. The carpet is dingy and has stains, the walls are dirty and have a lot of scrapes and holes. The furniture is worn out. The top of the beds looked clean, but the box springs looked quite dirty. The tv was really dirty, big smears all over the screen. The beds were not very comfortable but not terrible. I would give them a 5 out of 10 for comfort. The light between the beds had red stains on the lampshade that I kept telling myself was food. The plugs by the bed didn’t work, luckily I brought a battery pack to charge our phones. The toilet was very old and flushed very slowly, luckily it didn’t get clogged. The shower head was crusty with limescale. We didn’t eat the breakfast, but I did check to see what they had when we checked out. Breakfast is from 6-9, and when I checked out around 8:10, they were 90% out of food. I would absolutely not stay here again, unless it was half the price. The only pros were the friendly staff, and the good location.
