Love, love, LOVED this restaurant! I enjoyed my food (ribs, collard greens, cabbage, shrimp and corn chowder). The food is all gone, so I can’t take a pic of it🤣 Service was great (my waitress was Diane). Everyone was pleasant ❤️ I can’t wait to try the fried green tomatoes when I come back. Try this place, you will definitely enjoy it!

My partner and I stopped in for lunch on our way up to Portland, ME and I’m already sad it will be a long time before we’re in the area again. This tucked away hidden gem was an absolute delight. The service was quick and great. The menu is filled with yummy dishes and the quality of the food was exceptional. Don’t sleep on this one!

American soul was a fun experience on a random Sunday. Headed over there with a few friends for brunch. Let me cavest, I am indifferent about brunch in general, but the quality of the food was worth the trip. I appreciated the DJ element to a degree. Sometimes brunch, DJs can be really distracting, but this one seemed to work and complement the experience.

With some fresh jams in the background, we got to dig into a variety of breakfast and lunch options. I opted for the shrimp and grits my husband got the chicken and waffles And everything was really fresh. The cocktails were a little sweet but definitely did the job. For those who love a bottom was brunch. This is definitely a place to consider.

Service was also on point. They were quite busy but they did a good job staying on top of our busy table and our needs

This place was SO GOOD. I got a cajun with yams, never have tasted such good alfredo even next day everytime ive reheated alfredo its oily but this one? NOT ONE BIT OF OIL. the yams? delicious!! my partner got the “fall of bone ribs” with mac n fries they was not lying abt fall off the bone when i tell you no meat was left on that bone! it was truly amazing! the waitress was very accommodating attentive, nice and made our time there well spent. the only reason i gave 4 stars for atmosphere was the djs music was a bit too loud which gave me a headache and was hard to hear but other than that amazing place!

Visiting from Boston, went with my brother and nephew. We enjoyed the food and the service was excellent. Thanks to Diane (server) who took great care of us. I visit Connecticut frequently and I have found the soul food I seek in my travels!

Stacey you were phenomenal, I appreciate the way you were with Amira( my baby) you were attentive and courteous!!! The flavors in each dish were perfectly balanced. I didn't get to take a picture of the soul rolls, but those were top tier!!! I will definitely be back everything was amazing! 10/10!!!!!!!!
