Nice hotel in a prime location with nice (not luxury) amenities. ||My husband and I spent three nights in early January at Amara in a standard king room with a patio. Our dog was welcome which was wonderful! ||The room itself was quite large, relatively quiet, and had standard amenities. No genuine complaints except a musty odor in the bathroom and the occasional upstairs noise (we will ask for a top floor next time). Our room was never cleaned despite our requests because the maids showed up at 3pm rather than the morning or lunchtime when we were out and about. This was in spite of our requests for earlier maid service. ||We ate at the restaurant twice — once as room service. The food was solid and the restaurant had excellent service with beautiful views of the red rocks. ||We enjoyed a couples massage at the spa that did not disappoint. The steam room and relaxation room at the spa were quite nice. ||The resort had a great location in the heart of uptown Sedona. They offer free valet parking and will drive you up the hill to town. ||Overall we had a nice stay but if we return, we will ask for an upstairs room and insist on maid service in the morning.

They really were the fluffiest pillows! Very comfortable beds overall and quiet room at night even on New Years Eve. Loved the heated pool overlooking the river/tress (we had so much fun! and great music too!). Looking at the stars from the jacuzzi was a dream. It was a clean, modern hotel but with a low-key, friendly vide immersed in nature ....and somehow still walking distance to shopping. Overall great experience.

Amara's goal seems to make guests' stay as relaxing and stress free as possible. Front desk, restaurant, valet staff, and even folks who scrub the internal glass doors are full of smiles and nods.
Rooms are not large, but are airy and modern. Our second floor room had a small balcony overlooking the pool...chilling and sipping wine must be nice there in warmer months.
The hotel is organized into three building on each side of the pool. The buildings are connected by exterior walkways, so you're exposed to outside temp and wind for a few seconds. Accessing a small gym (with Red Rocks view though) also requires a sprint across the driveway.
The parking situation was actually quite convenient. Valet works fast - text before leaving the room and the car is ready when you get to the front door. Amara must have hired the most pleasant valet teams around. They certainly deserve the tip at check out.
If there is a small negative its that the cleaning staff speaks no English. Nada. To communicate, you better know a few words en Español.
We would also suggest that management frees us some space in refrigerator and 'bar' shelf for guest's usage. Currently, it is all taken by for-sale drinks and snacks.
Overall, we really liked our stay.

We loved our stay over the holidays at Amara. It's such a perfect location. Right in the middle of everything. Staff was wonderful and courteous. We are breakfast a few times at the restaurant there and it was delicious. Any requests from housekeeping were granted very quickly. Over Christmas they had hot chocolate and games out and we woke up to a cute stocking with cookies on our day. I would not hesitate to stay here again. My one tiny complaint is that although the lobby was decorated so nicely for Christmas, they did not have one menorah even though Hannukah fell on the same day. Would be nice to include it next year.

Staff service was 10 of 10. Very attentive to needs and available to provide assistance when requested. Great restaurant and cocktails. View is difficult to beat and easy access to uptown Sedona. Pool, jacuzzi and spa are top quality. Highly recommend as a home base to explore Sedona.

Just concluded a lovely stay with the family at the Amara. ||Thoughts:| - Located in the heart of Sedona which comes with pros and cons. If you're interested in walking to restaurants, souvenir shops, ice cream, etc., this is your spot. However, the traffic in the area at this time of year is staggering. ~35 to 40 minutes to travel 1 mile.| - Valet is complimentary and required. While a busy time of year, we never waited more than a couple of minutes for our car. | - The staff are beyond wonderful! Bar servers, hosts, restaurant servers 10 out of 10| - We typically steer clear of hotel restaurants, but this was a great exception. Our dinner at the SaltRock was honestly one of the best meals we experienced in Sedona. | - Lastly, be aware of the VERY steep incline from the hotel to the main road. The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle, but it is a trek if you plan to walk it.

Wonderful Resort! We celebrated my wife’s birthday at the Resort. All aspects of the property are amazing! The staff and service is phenomenal! They aim to please and make you happy and comfortable during your stay at the resort. The on site restaurant, Salt Rick is magnificent!! We ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner there….The bartenders make the perfect cocktails !!

Location was spot on, we didn't realize it was right downtown. Very convenient to everything including groceries and hikes. The rooms are nice, nothing spectacular but clean and comfy. Food was very good for both breakfast and dinner we ordered a little of everything. Valet was a breeze always had our vehicle ready. We also received spa treatments. Shout out to Sam she was great, spa amenities are very minimal it was nice to get away and just relax. Even though you are downtown the pool and patio area feel very remote. We hiked cathedral rock and subway cave. Both were within 20mins to park. Again great location, all staff was friendly and helpful. We felt it was worth the cost!
