The staff at Alma de Sedona Inn are extremely friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and exceeded our expectations. We had a small patio which we enjoyed our morning coffee. The room amenities were wonderful. A fully stocked coffee maker and tea pot were a plus! Breakfast was a highlight. The food was imaginative and delicious, but I wish there was a basket of sweet breads offered. That is my only suggestion that would have made breakfast over the top. There is an elaborate labyrinth on the property as well as a medicine wheel which added to the Sedona experience. I would not hesitate to book with the Alma de Sedona Inn again - it was a fantastic experience. Thanks to a great staff!

I rarely write negative reviews. We were so disappointed with our stay at Alma de Sedona that I wanted to write a review. | |After reading rave reviews, Alma de Sedona was nothing like those reviews or the pictures. For the price, the property should not have had as much deferred maintenance as it did. Breakfast was very meager and in no way gourmet. Fruit had seen better days. We left breakfast hungry and unsatisfied. They couldn’t even supply toast with the thin “omelette”. One day they served a small dense muffin and they poured some kind of sugar syrup over the top, so no butter or jam. There is no employee on the premises past 5:00 or so. When we checked in we were told one of the keys would allow us to get into the “main” building to use the microwave. We were with friends and wanted to play a game at night. And yes, that was very literal, as one only could get in there to use the microwave. All light switches were in the locked office so you couldn’t turn on the overhead lights. The “main building” bathroom trash was overflowing with debris on the floor. The same trash was there the next day. Employee presence was basically nonexistent. Linda, who was excellent, was the only person who made a point to engage with the “guests”. Heating system was noisy and cycled on and off. The only pluses were the view was great and the bed was comfortable. ||For the price and from previous printed reviews, I should be raving about Alma de Sedona. I could go on and on about our disappointment with this establishment, but I think I have conveyed my impressions. I would have given it a 3 if it had not been so expensive. ||When we turned in our key, the employee just said thank you. Nothing more and never said we hope you enjoyed your stay. And she certainly didn’t ask “how was your stay” because she knew the answer!

Alma de Sedona was a nice stay. The rooms are spacious and it’s so nice to have the ginormous tub, fireplace, porch and sitting area. They provided super cozy robes. I was also thrilled to have a smart tv, I like to put YouTube music on and it was so nice. Breakfast was nice, scheduled 8:30-9:30. I was pleased to know they offer cold breakfast if your timing is poor though I didn’t try it.

Then, this place is conveniently located - close to restaurants, cafes, spas. We were also able to walk to lovely hikes and the Stupa park without needing to park!

We stayed at Settlers Pine room for three nights last weekend. This Inn has potential but needs work. ||Pros:|- Good location right off of the main street near shops and restaurants. |- Spacious room and bathroom. |- Nice fireplace.|- Nice balcony.||Cons:|- The room looks like Motel 6, old and outdated. Bathroom is also very old with a leaking toilet. |- Worn-out furniture.|- Could hear people walking loudly upstairs. |- A/C system is noisy and old.|- Throughout the night, there was some other equipment running that was making noise intermittently. |- Poor room service. Didn't get any service on 1st day. Had to ask for it the next day.  We asked to refresh the room, change towels, and throw out trash. They kept used glass and didn't throw away empty tissue box.|-Breakfast was minimalistic.|-Staff was curious but not helpful in recommending any activities or answering any logistical questions.||This Inn won Tripadvisor award but definitely not worth the money.

The pictures did not show the true condition of this Inn. There was a lot of deferred maintenance. The breakfast was meager and in no way what I would describe as gourmet. Linda was the only employee who had any interest in interacting with the guests. If this lodging was not as expensive as it was I might have given it a bit of a higher rating. I will say the view from our room was nice, but there are views from just about everywhere in Sedona. Very disappointing.

The pros are the location (I much prefer West Sedona), the breakfast, having a patio, and the staff. I also really enjoyed the swimming pool, and it was very dark and quiet at night, which I like.

The biggest 'con' for me is that I was hoping for a view and yet, Romantic Reflections has shrubbery completely obstructing the mountains behind the Inn. Also, the mattress on the bed is very saggy and needs replacing, the chairs are very uncomfortable, and the AC makes quite a racket.

We did enjoy our stay there, however.

I dont know where to begin. So I will cut to the chase. This Inn has many rules about canceling and now I know why. We left after one night. the room smelled of mold and mildew. The exciting breakfast they mention on their website turned out to be ||4 different foods on one plate served all at once and served by the Inn Keeper.|| It looked like a fast food cheap meal! The Inn Keeper is not only the waitress but the concierge too. Funny because she wasn't familiar at all with the destination. She is also the bellman because they don't have anyone else to carry your bags up the steps. They say they have snacks and coffee throughout the night as long as you like lukewarm coffee and steal bakery items. There is no one there after 5 p.m. ||We were able to get out of the remainder of our stay at Alma de Sedona.||||Luckily a room was available at the Casa Sedona Inn which was literally within walking distance. Here we found our Sedona paradise see my review of that property
