This store is very easy to navigate and find exactly what you need on your own. No problem finding the items fast. If not, there is an employee available to ask for assistance. Like that the aisles are small and labeled above with the items that it contains. Much easier to find items here than in a much bigger store.

Ace Hardware at this location was a fantastic experience—helpful, affordable, and efficient. I came in to have two keys cut from my original, and Austin went above and beyond to assist me. Not only was he super helpful and knowledgeable, but he also took the time to educate me on how to identify an original key versus a copied one.

The staff here are incredibly sweet and approachable, which made my visit even better. It’s refreshing to find a place where customer service still feels personal and genuine. I’ll definitely be returning for any future hardware needs. Highly recommend!

I ordered griddle from Costello Ace in NESCONSET few days ago.I was told to call back today delivery time for today.I mistakenly called Ace of East Setauket which is SEPARATELY owned.Lady who answered said I called Ace NOT Costello Ace of Nesconset.I called Costello and they told me delivery time.I thought all was confirmed until male from Ace Setauket called and said person from Costello did not call them with proper info from order so order not properly processed.He then proceeded to tell me he would make order with delivery today but said they would not take credit card over the phone. He said he was taking orders off the delivery truck to fit my order,and there was a $50 setup and $100 delivery fee.I told him that I was told free setup and delivery with my loyalty account.Nastily, and with loud offensive voice ,he told me that me my address was out of the area ,and they were wasting a lot of time to deliver to me..He said he would not take my credit card to pay for item,and I had to come to Setauket which was a half hour away.On the way I called Costello Ace of Nesconset to complain about order being screwed up,and I wanted refund.The kind manager said there was no problem with my order and it was being delivered as promised with honoring my loyalty account of free setup and delivery. ACE OF SETAUKET clearly and intentionally attempted to redo the sale from his store knowing full well Costello Ace of Nesconset had the original order,and gave me a delivery time today.Be mindful that Ace Hardware has nothing to do with Costello Ace.

I was checking an item online and showed that store has 32 pc but when I went to the store they said they don’t have . This is weast of time

Today was the 3rd time I have been to this store and received no help. I am told each time by the man who is always there he is too busy to help me. Then someone different is called who doesn’t show until I wait about 15 minutes then ask again. Today the person had no idea how to find a matching color paint for me. He really acted very disinterested from the get go. I gave him the name of paint and color. He told me I needed more information. Meanwhile , I had done this in previous Ace hardware without a problem. Clearly, this store is loosing money due to incompetent unwilling to work employees. The worst is the first guy who clearly doesn’t want to work at all.

Buyers Beware! This store doesn't act in a responsible manner.

I went to purchase semi-gloss white door and trim paint, asking for assistance from an employee. He asked what I needed, selected the "paint" from a shelf and put it in the shaking machine while I shopped for other items. I took the purchase home ($36 for a quart! I paid since I was short on time.). When I went to paint the door with a new roller the "paint" didn't cover the surface. Long-story-short, I was sold a paint "base" and not paint.

I returned to the store to get a refund (wasn't given what I asked for) and the manager flatly refused. He gave me a smirk about returning an opened can. No discussion. My problem. Didn't seem to care that the employee had chosen the "paint" - not me.

I try to support local businesses, but this one often can be a difficult choice since the goods are over-priced and the inventory is limited. Add to that now - staff not knowing what they are doing and a general lack of customer support - I'll take my business elsewhere.

Don't rely on what the employees tell you because they won't stand by that when the employee guesses wrong.
