My husband and I decided to take a quick trip to Hocking Hills to do some hiking. We love staying at B&Bs, so we booked here! We loved it, and would recommend! BJ is a great host with lots of wisdom and stories to share, and Sharon was a gracious and good cook!

Highly recommend! Excellent Bed & Breakfast with the most wonderful hosts, BJ and Sharon. We felt like family, and enjoyed our six-night stay in the Honeymoon Suite. Delicious breakfast and the most delightful stories and conversation each morning started our days off wonderfully, before we headed out on our hiking adventures each day in the Hocking Hills. Great location— quiet, peaceful, and cozy within a short distance to all the bests hikes in the area.

We stayed here for our Anniversary in October. From the reservation on the phone to the end of our stay, everything was wonderful. The furnishings were beautiful and the history and themed rooms were so interesting. It was fun to talk to BJ who had a wealth of knowledge that he shared. The rooms were very clean. Sharon served us a yummy breakfast and BJ whistled for the swans to come to our side of the lake. We stayed in the honeymoon suite and the bed was very comfortable. Such a beautiful property and serene setting. We recommend this B&B and hope to return.

When I say I shed a tear when we had to leave, I mean it. I’ve never felt more at home while away than I did here. BJ is the most incredible and welcoming host. He is incredibly knowledgeable, witty, and down to earth. It was serendipitous that we arrived on the weekend we did, because we also got to meet Bud Simpson, a local author, column writer, and photographer. I felt like I gained two new grandpas. We shared so many stories around the breakfast table each morning. BJ shared the best recommendations for hiking, eating, and shopping. We truly appreciated how much he opened up to us about his exciting life! His stories were unforgettable. |For our stay - I was blown away by how beautifully decorated each room of the home was. The bed of our honeymoon suite was outrageously comfortable, and we loved the electric fireplace for added warmth. It was a bit cold during our stay so we didn’t get to sit outdoors much, but we were overjoyed to feed the beautiful swans on the stunning lake logan, right in the front yard! We saw several kayakers and small fishing boats out on the Mayer as well. For a home built prior to the 1860’s, it was in remarkable shape. BJ’s craftsmanship definitely shows in the additions to this gorgeous home. We are avid lovers of old homes, and this place was no exception. That loving “grandparents house” smell was so nostalgic, and was heightened with the added smell of fresh coffee, eggs, and sausage each morning. Our entire stay definitely took me back to a place and memory that I didn’t think I’d ever get to experience again. Needless to say, we already booked our room for this time next year. We absolutely cannot wait to get back to the hocking hills, specifically A Georgian Manner bed and breakfast with BJ.

We prepaid for our 10th anniversary and even though we have proof of payment he canceled our room. He wouldn’t accept an email or text with the proof we had to mail it. We will probably never get our refund. I’ve never been spoken to the way the owner spoke to me insisting we didn’t pay. He ruined our Valentine’s Day anniversary trip that we have been planning for months that’s why we prepaid. I’m devastated our trip was ruined but also very upset about the way he spoke to me and canceled our room, refusing to accept the print out from the bank we paid $614 on Nov 26th just to have our room cancelled because he forgot we prepaid and refused to go back and look in his books.

Checked in at 3:30pm and left at 9:30pm for home. Terrible moldy/musty smell throughout that made me feel ill. Despite being the only guests there that night, for added safety, we secured the door from the main house to our suite. This exacerbated the moldy/musty smell. We had no choice but to leave. Clearly there are issues with moisture that need to be addressed.|The website exhibits absolutely picturesque scenes of a beautiful Lake Logan. NOT the case. The Lake is dried up and full of duck weed. It's not healthy, nor is it pretty. A kayak is available but you can't use it given the current condition of the lake. These facts were not described on the website and the owner said the condition of the lake has been ongoing for 3 years!|The side patio from the Honeymoon Suite was another disappointment. The chair cushions were dirty and we had to place towels on them before sitting. The table had cobwebs around the so-called decorations on it and the table itself was in desperate need of a very good cleaning detail. The roof material over the pergola was absolutely filthy, to the point you couldn't see through it to the beautiful sky above.|The jetted tub jets did not appear to be clean. No way were we using it.|It's also not encouraging to be told you are parking a car in the lot so others wouldn't know we were the only guests there. One questions if there have been safety and security issues there.|The overall condition of the establishment is, in a word, deteriorating. There is rotting wood all around - i.e. pergolas, roof lines, pillars, etc. We were greeted with a moldy/musty smell from the moment we walked in the door at the car port. In hindsight, we should have turned around and walked away, but we held hope it would get better. Unfortunately, it did not and we had no choice but to leave when we did.|The owner doesn't reside there & told us multiple times "I don't live like this", referring to the Mannor he boasted so much about. We certainly hope not. Despite what the owner may reply to this scathing review, trust us when we say there are moisture & maintenance issues at this place. We paid apprx. $300 for the 6 hour stay. My husband emailed him about the issues but there was no reply, no refund, no apology.

We throughly enjoyed our stay here and hope to come again someday. BJ upgraded us to the Honeymoon Suite as there were no other guests this weekend and that was really kind of him. The bed was comfortable and the jacuzzi was so relaxing. The home is beautiful and the whole place feels like a museum with carefully curated pieces. BJ and Sharon were both exceedingly pleasant and hospitable, and the breakfast was good! |It’s a really great location as well — only a 10-15 minute drive to several Hocking Hills trailheads and attractions. Would absolutely recommend!

We had a very enjoyable relaxing visit to Logan. BJ was such a kind host, and his stories and historical information were really appreciated. We especially enjoyed looking through the photo albums showing the huge restoration to the house! BJ also made restaurant and hiking suggestions which were greatly appreciated! |We enjoyed the breakfasts that Sharon made, as well as chatting with her too!
