We had booked at another location, just north of the state line, and at the last minute they cancelled on us. Fortunately, I extended my search and found Water Canyon Rv Park. This place was spacious, very clean, and provided water, electric and sewer included in your price. We would highly recommend!

We had a great stay! Enjoyed the winery close by and hiking the Narrows and Amphitheater. Great food and cute coffee shops close by. It was very quiet and we had plenty of room to park our big rig. We will definitely stay here every time we come this way! We highly recommend!!

It's 1 block from the winery which is fantastic if your rationale for being in the area includes that. Wifi was excellent. Power was stable. Sites are entirely gravel which is far from optimal. Type-2 or decomposed granite would be light years better than chunky gravel. Also sad face for sites in a newly built (still building actually) that are not level enough to not have to break out levelers. ||Also, this is not the park's fault but affected us during our stay: If you don't like dirt bikes, quads, & side-by-sides with aftermarket (loud) exhaust pipes on them racing up & down both adjoining city streets at all hours of the day/night, you might want to look elsewhere for an RV site.

I do honestly wish I could rate this place better because the park and views were absolutely amazing!! The hiking nearby was also great so the location was really the best thing about this place. And very low traffic which was a nice change of pace.
Unfortunately, they’re renovating still so no amenities at this time but that’s okay with us.
The reason I rated low was there is no staff at the site and their communication through phone was iffy at best. When we arrived we called to check-in, we were literally the only ones there. We found our spot just fine of course, but I would have thought as a business they would return our call and make sure we were checked-in okay, had no questions, etc. There was no dumpster upon arrival. Another couple called and they did call them back and they did bring a dumpster same day so that was good at least. But then they turned the water off on us for 5 hours in the middle of the day without communicating about it so that we could fill our tanks and prepare.
I wouldn’t mind returning if the staff was more responsive and once there is an office on-site.

Power, Water and Waste - free Wifi! Laundry, bathrooms and showers all new and well kept - very little light pollution at night and star gazing is amazing - close to brewery's Winery and several hikes - great stop for a break when traveling. Seriously can't stop looking at the view from the park.

Pros: It's a 1 block walk to the Winery. The wifi was great. Right now anyway, price is low.

Cons as of the time of this review: It's almost impossible to get a hold of anyone on the phone. There's no office there so no management there (that we could tell anyway). No bathrooms or showers if that's important to you. The sites are 100% composed of typical 1/2-3/4inch gravel, that's a big mistake. The stuff is sharp as you know what. Impossible to walk around barefoot & very hard on dog paws. The sites are not totally level, which is a bummer at a place that's just built brand new. We used levers on one side.

Noise was a big issue but not from what you'd think, the main hwy (389) nearby, but rather mostly kids racing dirt bikes, quads & side-by-sides all day long & well after dark on both public streets that bracket the RV park in to where it is. I've been lifer off-roader going back to the 80s so it's not I have it out for the stuff. But I've never seen unbridled use of paved public streets by off road vehicles piloted by underage non-licensed/insured people. Putt-putting from a-to-b on a public road would be fine, but rapping things out, wheelie-ing up/down the streets etc is out of bounds. Hilldale & Colorado City really should get a handle on this stuff.

Would stay here again if visiting the winery or for some other quick overnight stop. The gravel sites & the local noise factor is a deal-breaker more than that for us.

Absolutely loved my stay! The location is central to so many National and State Parks! Also located next to a wonderful winery (Water Canyon Winery) and brewery (Edge of the World Brewing)! Beautiful sunsets and sunrises made my stay incredible!
