Let's break this down clean and simple. The rooms are falling apart with no maintenance. About which the owner told me that I shouldn't expect rooms with working doors because we're near the Grand Canyon. Which now brings me to the Location... which is not near any access to the Grand Canyon worth talking about. And the Service... forget it. This guy has no interest in providing quality customer service or help in any way. He wants a quick buck while he sits back and does nothing. In my case, we booked with booking.com and he decided on his own to add a fee to my booking. Please don't waste your time. It might look like an inexpensive stay, but you don't want to get stuck paying more for a horrible experience... trust me.

If you are expecting a 4 and a half or even a 5 star motel then go to Kanab and pay double$, even triple$ for a room.

So I've read the comments upon return of my trip, and was a bit surprised to see the negativeness. I get the feeling that a lot of people nowadays have this unrealistic expectation, which has lead to their lost sense of gratitude. They use social media as a tool to vent, and a lot of times post misleading or false information.

Facts: I booked for a two night stay, and while there, decided to stay for two more. I looked forward to each days adventure and enjoy the 2025 February sunshine. The manager, Chuck, was map savy for the area, and helped to inspire me for the next days plan. He was even worried when I didn't return until 9:00 one evening, and was ready to come looking for me. In the comments I saw mention of cats and cat urine. May I say that I am extremely offended by the smell of cat urine, but I did not see or smell any cats! The place is close to 100 years old, and yes, you will find quirks with each room, but Chuck does his best to keep up the maintenance. The sheets and beds were clean, (no bugs), towels clean, shower hot, Roku TV, rates very reasonable.

I plan to return to this quaint motel. It has character and I've found it to be a great place to rest and recharge after the days adventure!

Chuck was very rude, I called the hotel 2 minutes after Priceline booked the wrong location I explained to check that I was three and a half hours away on the other side of the Grand Canyon and that the booking was a complete mistake the hotel was supposed to be one mile from where I was at not three and a half hours away across the Grand Canyon check was very smart like saying things like will the Grand Canyons real big isn't it then he continued to explain that that side of the park was closed for winter knowing the road was closed and I couldn't even get there if I wanted to he's still refused to Simply reply to the email that Priceline had sent him to cancel the reservation he then again very smart aleckly explains it once you hit the button you have a reservation when I asked to talk to the men's your check said I am the manager when I asked to talk to the owner he said the guy is from India and it's going to be gone for 2 to 3 months he didn't really know but he didn't have any authorization do anything this hotel is a scam they will take your reservation knowing the facilities are closed when you figure that out they deny canceling any reservations Chuck really expecting me to drive three and a half hours through the Grand Canyon with my family at night to reach his hotel where the roads are closed this is one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had Chuck is fully aware that he is ripping people off and seems to have a good time laughing at you when you call for help

Chuck the manager is rude and disrespectful. I called him 2 minutes after pricelne.com booked me for his hotel after a malfunctioning website issue. The website said it was 1 mile away, when it was actually 3.5 hours away. Chuck took pleasure in not refunding the money. Laughing at me and making smart-ass comments. He then told me that that side of the grand canyon where closed and alot of the roads due to snow.I explained I was traveling with my family and it was already dark and it was not safe to travel through the grand canyon wilderness for 3.5 hours and i had already been driving all day and could not safely go any further thats why i booked the closet hotel. I told him all he had to do is respond to the email, he said he would go ahead and do it. Then he laughed at me and hung up the phone. Chuck is not a man of his word. Chuck is taking reservations for areas of the Grand canyon that are closed.

The views of the mountains are absolutely stunning. I chose this place because 1. It's located in the middle where I needed to go. 2. You can't beat the price. The cabins are duplex style and spacious. The beds were larger than expected which was a nice treat. The check in/out process was easy. The bathroom was decent. The only thing I wish was that there was more air flow coming from the AC unit.

Worst hotel stay that we have ever had! The bathroom door was broken when we arrived, and our four year old ended up getting stuck in there for a long time this morning. When we called the manager, he scolded us for leaving our child unattended. Then, he charged us an additional fee of $22.18. ||Please listen to the bad reviews and keep driving. I wish so badly we had done this last night and avoided the horrible experience we had.

Positive: My four year old got locked in their bathroom because the door handle was broken and wood chipped. The hotel manager had the audacity to scold us for leaving our four year old unattended to go potty and never apologized. Instead he fined us $20. Negative: Everything! Hotel manager, broken and outdated room, and whole atmosphere. We didn?t feel welcome. Big damper on our trip.

This place stunk like cat urine outside and inside checkin office, hotel keeper had food stuck on him, room was absolutely disgusting: dirty stained bed cover, crunchy crumbs in sheets, curly hairs , bed was lumpy, crooked, shower was unfit for a dog. We spent 30 seconds in room and left. Noway could we stay in there!
