Wonderful location & amazingly beautiful. We love the rustic feel of the place, with all the amenities. I had called to see if there was anything special that could be done for my wife’s birthday and the staff really came through on such short notice. They made us feel very welcomed and genuinely want you to be happy. So glad we came and will likely try to meet some family here in the future as well - there is a lot to do on site, and fantastic views w/short day trips to view elk, other wildlife, and this beautiful area.

This place was awesome! I can't wait to go back there for their beer-battered fried fish. The jacuzzi was wonderful after a full day of hiking, wading in an ice-cold river and hot springs. The rooms are great and the beds are comfortable.

Seriously beautiful location. Check in was easy. Rooms are rustic, and fairly updated. Property is well kept and nice to wander around. Food in the restaurant was good as was the service. My only complaint was the cleanliness of the room. All surfaces were very dusty. The floors were discussing, we had sticky shiny footprints "like someone stepped in a spilled drink" by the nightstand and there was random leaves-food crumbs-dust in the corners and behind items. The fireplace in the room are fake LED logs and the rotating lights behind the fake logs sqeeked every 3 seconds. So we had to keep it off.

Our stay was wonderful! Opening the door to our cabin and hearing the creek was lovely. We enjoyed all of the amenities like pickle ball, pool/spa, DVD rentals, life size chess, corn hole, horse shoes and putting green etc… the grounds were very well kept with ample grills and trash cans. The cabin was cozy - the fireplace was our favorite. Could have used one extra sitting chair in the living room area and a larger mirror. The on-site restaurant was very tasty and the servers were all so nice. Lodge staff in general were very courteous and helpful.

Positive: The setting is beautiful - a log lodge set along a heavily forested creek. Unfortunately we arrived at 8:30pm, well after dark, and their checkout time is 10:00am. They charge $100 if you miss that checkout time. So we had very little time to enjoy. Negative: Early checkout. They charge a $25 "resort fee" for their amenities - volleyball, mini-golf, bocci, etc. - none of which we could utilize.

Great place, not too big, quiet, very clean and friendly staff. There's so much to do in this area, if you're into all things nature. ||Make sure you're well supplied, as the trip to town is 12 miles, however Christopher Creek has a mini store and they are only a few minutes away. There is a store in Forest Lakes, but it is closed in the winter.

Stayed at Kohls Ranch Lodge for one night and it was the best decision! The lady that checked us in on Saturday was very pleasant and got all info to us perfectly. Great location, bathroom looked to be very recently renovated, parking is easy, and there is a restaurant on site so you really don’t need to leave (especially if you’re fishing cause the Tonto runs through property)! Only gripe was the coffee station felt underwhelming for the extra charge.

Wow! Right from the time we stepped into the lodge we enjoyed every moment. Morgan at reception provided us great check in service. The rooms are spacious. We played pickleball with equipment checked out at reception for free. Right above reception is a reading area where we spent a couple of hours reading and relaxing. There is heated swimming pool and a few sports options that we didn't try, but looked exciting. It's also close to a creek so we walked around in the morning. Really reasonably priced. Highly recommend anyone staying in Payson to stay here.
