My mom chose to go here for her birthday yesterday. She loves this place and it was my first time there. I got the chicken fried steak so my mom could have piece and order her fav the shrimp basket too. The chicken fried steak was great. I currently live in Texas so I think I know a little about chicken fried steak and if you want one this is the place. Everything else was great too.... Owner chef really cares about her food and you can taste it. She was doing it all herself too and service was still fast.

Me and my boyfriend came here for the first time tonight (Sunday night). The food was excellent. My burger was so huge I couldn’t eat all of it and was cooked perfectly and the fries were well seasoned and crispy and the prices were great. The lady behind the bar provided great service and charged my boyfriend for one beer instead of two. We liked looking at all the old decor and liked seeing all the armed forces flags (I am a USMC vet) and the owner’s mother was friendly and welcoming.

The only real complaint I have is the patrons were openly staring at us and not in a good way and it made me feel uncomfortable. This is definitely a spot for the locals and I guess we gave out an outsider’s vibe. We will try to go again on a busier night.

12/29 we waited 2 hours for burgers, yes two hours. We would have left but the waitress kept saying they are on the grill, they are on the plate just to stall us. I managed to get two beers during this time, although I was charged for 3. The third never made it. we will not return..

This is a nice friendly place to get a drink and a snack or have a gathering or a good hearty meal. The owner is real nice and welcoming. So if your out for ride or headed to the lake stop in and check it out! It's the number one spot to go in Wheatfields! There's even live music and karaoke.

If you appreciate good service, I would recommend going elsewhere. My first visit here was exceptional but I think the actual owner served us. My parents went a second time and had a horrible experience. While visiting them again today, we decided to give them another try. The place wasn’t overly busy, we ordered 4 cheeseburgers with fries…pretty simple order. After an hour and 15 minutes, we asked about our food as my mother had to go work and couldn’t wait much longer; we were told it would be ready shortly. After another 10 minutes drifted by with our drinks empty and no sign of the waitress, I went to bar to cancel our order. The bartender rolled her eyes and said “y’all can just take it with you, we’ll box it up.” I did not come to a restaurant to pay $20 for a cheeseburger to not receive it after over an hour wait much less giving my mother a boxed meal that would be nice and soggy by the time she would be able to eat on a break at work. Their parking lot has been empty more than I’ve seen it full so I should’ve known better. I like to give business to small business owners but with service like that and attitudes received from their staff, it’s no wonder their parking lot stays empty! I left them an excellent review on here after my first visit but with my parents’ experience along with today, I’d highly recommend going to place with higher standards for customer service because they certainly leave a lot to be desired!

Not enough stars. I do not like going to bars. We have so many in our small town and I just don’t do bars. I’ve been to many here and Ya not for me. The hideaway though is so comfortable. The people. The food. Prices. Everything!!! I absolutely enjoy going to dinner here and drink some beer and play darts. Great place ❤️
