Tempe Mission Palms, a Destination by Hyatt Hotel - Tempe, Arizona

Absolutely love this hotel. It's my preferred place to stay when I'm in town to play/produce events. Even though there are closer hotels to where I do that, the Mission Palms is the one I keep going back to. Comfortable, great customer service, free valet (just be nice and tip!), and solid amenities. Well appointed bar, decent food with solid room service, and great view when you get a courtyard room. Also love the saltwater pool and the newly refinished hot tubs.

Always a great redemption rate with Hyatt points too, which means a waived resort fee. Solid choice for anyone who uses Chase Rewards since it's a clean 1:1 points transfer. 😉

Location is very good with lots of restaurants nearby. Parking is pretty easy. Property itself is pretty nice for the price. Only complaint was the room. The bathroom is tiny! The shower curtain is about 6” from the toilet. Given the room has about 3 feet of wasted space by the window, the tiny bathroom didn’t have to be. Rooms are clean but are a bit dated and no microwave. Warning for anyone with young kids. The windows open all the way and have no screen or lock so a first floor room would be best

This place was beautiful!!! We loved the center courtyard and the room was awesome. We had a wonderful time and met one of the managers/director of banquets and I believe his name was Robert, I'm sorry if it was someone else. Either way he was a great asset. He helped us and told us all about the hotel. Jasmine checked us in and was very kind and full of smiles!! She was a great asset to the front desk and first impressions of the staff and hotel. Scott was new at the bar and had a great smile and was full of enthusiasm and willingness to please. Thanks for a great time and stay at this beautiful hotel.

I rarely give 5-star reviews & galdto do so for this hotel. I was here for a work event & the staff are amazing. Stephanie our event contact was always responsive. Robin, Ty & the rest of the AV/tech team were equally great. Tommy from the security department was especially patient & fabulous. Couldn't have asked for a better location. The site was clean, beautifully maintained & the catering was healthy. A lot of our attendees were very pleased we chose this hotel.

I recently visited the Tempe Mission Palms for a team offsite. This was not our first choice hotel, but due to its proximity to the university and our elite reservation, our usual hotel chain was sold out. In planning for my trip to visit, I learned that there was a free hotel shuttle, which I thought was excellent. This is not an airport hotel so I think it's great that there is a shuttle for free to and from the hotel. ||I was not able to find much information about the food services available on the website, but that was probably because I was doing my research on my phone. So I called the hotel to make sure they had an espresso machine because my day does not start without an iced latte. The receptionist told me that she did not think that they had an espresso machine and I thought that was ridiculous, but I packed my travel espresso machine anyway.||When I arrived, I was able to confirm that in fact, there is no espresso machine in this entire hotel. I asked several times. and the reason why my rating is three stars and not four is because every single person I asked about the espresso machine told me that they have been trying to tell management to buy an espresso machine forever and they still don't have one which tells me that management doesn't listen to their employees.||absent the espresso machine situation, the rooms were nice and the mattress was exceptionally comfortable. Everything was clean, the hairdryer was cheap and the shampoo conditioner and soaps were all fairly low budget. I don't really appreciate that because I try to travel light and if hotels have excellent products, that's one less thing for me to have to bring.

Great stay aside for Greg (bellman) during initial welcome, who infuriated my wife and I to almost ruin our stay. Fortunately, the poor hospitality and rudeness seemed to be isolated to just this one employee.

As they say, “pictures are worth a thousand words.” See 6 available luggage carts 5 ft from my vehicle behind the pillar for context. All 6 are 100% not being used or in queue for usage. Greg took my luggage cart away after I moved it by my car. I clarified that I would like to use the luggage cart but don’t need assistance, and said they’re not allowed for self usage in a very rude tone. He seemed more than happy to let me make multiple trips while my family waited in the car. All I can think “welcome to Hyatt Destinations” maybe not quite the “luxury” brand they advertise.

To all parents out there. Picture a day of travel with your tired kids and just looking forward to finally getting to the hotel. You’re tired, kids are tired. Not only are you told (for whatever reason) that any of the 6 carts staring you in the face cant be used by the bellman, they to take the cart away from you while you’re trying to actively unload your vehicle to then let your wife and 2 kids wait while you make multiple trips. As the bellman stands nearby. Thanks Greg.

In fairness, the front desk seemed to share in my jaw drop at the rudeness of their employee. (Smooth move Greg on moving the carts inside once you gave my your name on my second trip down while leaving my family in the car. Glad I snapped the photos)

Wonderful hotel. Very well maintained. The room was nice and clean and so were the common spaces. Breakfast was always fresh, everyone was super friendly. I would hold onto some cash to tip valet (they provide the option of valet first). Self park is located on the side of the hotel. We loved that it was close to bus stops, train stops, main street and Hayden Butte.

Nice hotel in a great location. Rooms are older and basic with views of concrete. The front desk felt purposefully unhelpful, and the staff overall weren't very friendly. While the hotel was fine, I likely won't return due to the low level of customer service offered by the staff.
