The location is great, but the property leaves a bit to be desired. First off, I’m staying here in winter, so some issues may not apply to other times of the year. The listing said NOTHING about not having HEAT, so I was surprised to find out that only a space heater was provided. I felt very uneasy about having this running all night or while I wasn’t in the room. So only ran it while there, and despite it running the entire time I was in the room, I could not get the temperature to any higher than 65. And that was just the bedroom where the space heater was located. The bathroom was FREEZING and so uncomfortable because of it. Other issues were as follows:
I originally booked the 4th St Room. They called me a week or so before my booking and said it was no longer available due to renovations, and moved us to the Persian room. Persian room had no counter space whatsoever in the bathroom, and a FREEZING marble floors with no rugs. Also some issues with cleanliness and repairs (see photos), and burned out bulbs that I did not take photos of. The main issue was it was just COLD.
We were staying 3 nights and you only get 2 towels. It’s an extra fee for any sort of room cleaning service during your stay (this is not specified until AFTER you book), so I was afraid to ask for more towels for fear of incurring fees.
Warning signs in the room saying if you get makeup on the towels/bedding, they will charge you.
4 coffee pods for 2 people and 3 night stay. Again, afraid to ask for anything further because of all the nickel and dime warning signs.
Marble(?) floor has a weird textured coating on it so you feel like you’re walking on sand/dirty floor all the time. There are no rugs. No warmth in the room. I’m so cold.

This was a great stay! I was in town for a work assignment for 7 nights and found the price to be comparable or better than the typical hotels nearby. It was a much more homey feel and the passcode entrance to the property and my room made me feel more safe as I was traveling alone.

The room was comfortable and had more personality than any hotel I have stayed in as well. The staff was very responsive, I could text the hotel phone number and they would answer instantly.

The first time I entered my room the passcode didn't work, I called the hotel number and they reset the lock while on the phone, the issue was resolved in 30 seconds and I entered my room.

I didn't spend much time on the patio since it was chilly that week but it was gorgeous and welcoming! Really loved the vibes of the property. It's also walking distance from downtown which was great.

I'll definitely try and book this location again if I return to Tucson!

My wife and I stayed at the El Amador so we could go to a concert at the Rialto Theater and not have to drive home. The stay was excellent, for many reasons. The room we stayed in was the Fountain room which was spacious with tall ceilings and fine furniture. The room was stocked with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Besides the room the courtyard was exceptional. A gas operated fire pit along with a fountain with several houses of seating and socializing. Overall a very pleasant stay and we will certainly return for another stay.

Went there during the Christmas parade and had a blast. They were very welcoming. They had Home Alone playing in a projector, hot chocolate, and a fire earth. Not to mention a big size connect four for the kids
It was a surprise. I'm from Tucson and never knew it was there. Gotta stay there one day

My brother had his wedding here and we stayed the night before and the night of the wedding. It was very convenient to have our rooms on-site. The rooms were very comfortable. Many guests at the wedding commented on what a beautiful venue it is. The staff was very attentive and helpful throughout the event and planning process as well.

We stayed in the rooms and used the courtyard for a wedding. It worked well for the event and the staff worked hard to care for our needs and the needs of the event. As with any wedding, there were issues (unrelated to the venue or their staff) and the staff of El Amador were quick to make adjustments in accord with our changing needs. They are top notch.

I am a single senior woman and was a bit hesitant to stay at a location without anyone on site. I was totally wrong! The experience was wonderful. The location was so close to downtown and the ambiance was spectacular. Would certainly stay here again

Had a fantastic stay at El Amador Inn! The location is perfect, right in the heart of downtown Tucson. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Great value for the price. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area!
