This place truly deserves five stars. The staff was incredible, with great conversation. The pastries all looked amazing and I had a hard time choosing. I settled for a raspberry croissant and caramel pecan croissant, both were incredible! I will be going back tomorrow for multiple fresh bread loaves and pastries before heading home. Apparently, the loaves freeze well and I will be taking that recommendation. (Update: I went again the day after, and the pastries are amazing! I absolutely love the chocolate hazelnut croissant and blackberry fans!)

Nice bakery, good selection. Everything looked really good, but the scones did not have much flavor and the almond pastry were to rich. We did not get our receipt when we walked out and noticed we were about $6.00 overcharged. We went back in right after we noticed. They did do right by us and corrected their mistake. Everyone was very friendly.

As an out-of-town visitor today who happens to be very picky about bakeries, I was delighted to find such a beautiful array of highest-quality breads and pastries! The Ancient Grains loaf was still fresh and warm from the oven, and the baker/host thoughtfully packaged it for my journey. The apple oatmeal cookie I selected to eat in the car was to die-for. I will for sure return to Firehouse Bakery!

Wonderful variety of bakery items. The almonds claws are incredible! We happened to get them as they were coming out of the oven, which made them even better! The chocolate hazelnut filled croissant was good as well. I ordered a cinnamon croissant, which looks like a cinnamon roll, and was told it is one of the best things they have, but I have not tried it yet. This is a place that people go on a regular basis because they know the quality they are getting. I saw people coming out with multiple loaves of bread. The service was wonderful and the line moves fast.

I ordered 2 Dozen Guinea pig cookies, they were a hit with the adults and the kids. My niece loved them sooo much, she started off by saying noone could eat any. Lol

We received a wedding cake from Firehouse bakery. It was very delicious but had two problems. One was they forgot one tier was supposed to be a different flavor, but remembered in time to bake a whole other tier to correct it with no extra charge, so they did fix this mistake. The other was the decoration was not really up to my expectations. She did say she had never done birch tree style before, but I wish she would have recommended another style if she wasn't confident in her ability to pull the birch off. I have included the cake I was hoping it to look like and what ours looked like. Very good cake, sub-par decorating.

Great pastries and great prices. Be prepared to have a long line, if it is a busy weekend in Hayward. There is no inside seating that is why atmosphere only has a 2.
