My husband and I love coming here. Their drip is always delicious and carefully made, and their rotating special drinks are always made with lots of attention-to-detail. We’ve been going more frequently lately because of their seasonal black sesame tahini matcha— it’s phenomenal! The staff is always super sweet, too 🩷

(In the video I got a spiced pear espresso tonic and my husband got an old fashioned espresso thingy!!)

Nothing bad to speak of here. A cafe that makes good coffee, is clean/tidy, and has very polite customer service. Latte art at this cafe is top notch.

Parking is not great, but that is not unusual for Norfolk. Ample seating, open concept with the bar in the middle. Food is not their forte, but this is a cafe, not a five star restaurant.

We came in late one afternoon on a whim and were pleasantly surprised. The food was hot and very good. I think they stop serving food at 3. The barista, JT was super friendly and every drink we tried was good! We got the chai latte, gingerbread latte, turmeric, tonic, and the candy cane Matcha, drink. Not to mention the presentation of the drinks and the atmosphere were top notch. The place was huge and had plenty of room, perfect for studying, reading, crocheting and catching up with friends!

A beautiful coffee shop for enjoying time with friends or working. The baristas are very helpful and friendly. Coffee is amazing and I love the homemade syrups! There is also a pastry case with treats available. Great atmosphere and vibes.

Such a heartfelt thank you to everyone I met at Coalescence for making my honeymoon week special (Late October 2024). Parker was such a wonderful person and it was such a pleasure getting to enjoy some of the finest coffee I’ve ever had with him. Getting to nerd out over roasts was a highlight of my honeymoon week and I look forward to coming back every time I come to Norfolk.

I had THE CHURCHILL double espresso which was amazing. The smoked finish on this coffee is superb. Just can tell the baristas hand select their beans here.

The breakfast sandwich was incredible too.

Beautiful quiet place to get stuff done or just enjoy the vibes.

Just a fantastic place. conceptually, clean space (!), friendly staff, delicious coffee. the pumpkin latte was lovely - moderately sweet, delicately spiced and espresso with milk. the bagel was good too. perfect place! I recommend it to all coffee lovers

What a cool vibe in this place! This isn't the Green Siren people. This is what an American coffee bar should be - relaxed, high end, great coffee options and a friendly barista who has a care about his or her craft.

After two disappointing stops for coffee so far today, I got to Coalescence at around 8 am and found a seat in the corner. With my laptop, I was here for four hours working and no one minded at all.

I enjoyed one of the coffees off their "signature menu," a very creative drink called "Taste the Rainbow." Somehow, a double espresso with a pomegranate-lime reduction that was shaken over ice with plum bitters. It sounds strange and it was, but it was also refreshing and delicious. I don't know if I would have it again. And my second coffee here was a simple pour-over that was perfection.

Fabulous coffee shop in Ghent. Industrial but laid back and a place that exudes the word, "smooth."

Hands down my favorite coffee shop in Hampton Roads! The staff’s knowledge about coffee is bar none. They carry a huge selection of the highest quality coffee around. Love the vibe and everyone is always helpful.
