We were greeted by friendly staff, and our server was on top of everything. We ordered more food than we could handle. We started with seared Ahi tuna, calamari fingers and edamames. All 3 were excellent and very fresh and hot. For entrees we got Las Vegas Sushi roll, Sue Sue Shrimp basket, and Gator Poorboy Sandwich. All were delicious and very well prepared to the eyes and stomach. Our server was so nice and polite. Thus is definitely worth coming too and we shall return. Thank you, for a great foodie experience. I had to edit this, I forgot our amazing server Kaitlyn who catered to our every need and didn't let our drinks run out. Thank You Again.

My wife and I went here last night for our 5th Anniversary. It had been a few years since we were here. They were quite busy and we didn't have a reservation, but they were able to seat us immediately at the sushi bar. We thoroughly enjoyed watching chef Gil and his team curate such amazing sushi. The cocktails were also quite good. For dinner, my wife got the prime rib and I got the wagyu surf and turf. Honestly, this was an exceptional dining experience. The food was cooked to perfection, the sushi was out in under 40 minutes (we were told sushi was an hour wait). Our server was pleasant and the sushi team answered our many questions. We are about 35 minutes away from Chubby Trout, but my wife and I both agree. We need to make this trip far more often.

What an awesome evening here!!! The food, our server Ashley was outstanding. We started with some drinks and sushi for appetizer (creamy fried shrimp roll, Big Roll, American Dream). My wife had the Sue Sue Tacos and I had the Almond Crusted Walleye both were perfect. I did fries and coleslaw for sides, very good. There was 7 in our group which many places struggle with service for that many, but not here. Very pleased with our experience.

Stopped by for lunch today. I hadn't been to Chubby Trout since it had moved to the current location. The food was excellent. I had the lunch special (spicy tuna and spicy salmon roll) and also tried the blue gill. Both so good. We had the crab cakes for an appetizer and they were phenomenal. We ate outside which was nice. The building and indoor dining area is very cool. I would Definitely recommend this spot when in the Elkhart area.

This is a mainstay in Elkhart whether you were here for business or pleasure.

One of the few places with fresh sushi, and a large draft list of local and domestic beer.
Bailey and Hailey provided great service.
It can get busy, so either book ahead or plan to wait for a table. Or jump up to the bar and watch the game!
Both indoor and spring/summer/fall outdoor seating.

Did not disappoint! Excellent service, didn't need to ask for anything! The food is phenomenal! The smoked prime rib was juicy and full of flavor. The trout was cooked to perfection and the baked brie was so very yummy! Try the jam old fashioned!

What a great experience. From the friendly, helpful and attentive staff (not only my specific server but all were very willing to help). Starting off with perfectly balanced cocktails, taking my specific requests into consideration…On to the sushi appetizer with very healthy portions and intense and creative rolls (I ordered the easy crab slammer-pictured). Then the pepper crab bisque that came with a pile of crab and a very acute “you can taste it but it’s not overbearing” peppery bisque. And the grand finally main course “fishin’ off the pier” seafood sampler complete with their signature fresh caught “chubby Charlie” trout on top of a seafood cake (only critique is the seafood cake was a little heavily salted), coconut shrimp and its sweet but not too seeet dipping sauce and lightly fried lake perch with two sides- a baked potato and vegetable medley. I can’t say enough how I appreciated the value and friendly atmosphere. I travel for work and I will definitely be recommending, bringing clients and be back to explore the rest of the menu! Fully enjoyed and satisfied- thank you!

Best experience! Location is very random and in a cute barn. Doesn't look like a sushi place. Atmosphere was great with great music and quick service as soon as we walked in! Our waitress Amanda was great and very knowledgeable about everything on the menu and gave great recommendations. This was the best sushi and food we have had in a while!
