The manager was great, and very communicative. Room was good for the most part. Doorknob came off in my hand but not a huge deal. Pool was nice, great walking distance to coconut market place. Door Code and pool code are a bit long to remember, but no biggie. No sunsets at all, wrong side of the island, that was a bit of a bummer, but no fault of the property at all. It is centrally located, so nice to get to all places without a huge drive.

I've stayed here several times. It's centrally located. Great location and walking distance to many things.
I've booked through Airbnb and also directly through the resort (with no cleaning fee).
Some units are renovated and quite nice with a full kitchen.
The pool isn't fabulous, but it's walking distance to the beach.
It's a good value.
Will stay again if the need arises.

The bed was comfortable and had a good selection of pillows. Kitchen was adequate with most items. The laundry room was clean and washer and dryer was less than 2.00. We enjoyed the location, close to shopping and market. The cleaning staff did a good job, but the carpet needed cleaning and or replaced.

The staff were friendly and the location was GREAT, but our room left a lot to be desired. I realize the climate is wet year round, but our room smelled horrible, and that made our clothes smell bad. The bathtub was cracked a bit and felt like it was going to fall through the floor, maybe from water damage. Our couch was part of an outdoor furniture set, I think, and not comfortable. The kitchen was dated, but had the basics. The beds were fine, but the pillows were oddly lumpy. The air conditioning seemed to only make the living room comfortable but didn’t really reach the bedroom. ||Besides the condition of our room, the facility was nice and the landscaping was very well maintained. The pool was awesome and we enjoyed the hot tub almost every night (the jets didn’t work for a few days, though).||We were in Building A, so we were very close to the marketplace. That was super convenient. ||This is not a beachfront property. A large, fenced field lies between the hotel and the ocean. There is a walking path from the road, though. ||Overall, our trip was amazing but we’ll stay elsewhere next time.

Room was clean for sure. However… it left something to be desired. It needed an OVERHAUL! Very dated. Carpet was stained. Cabinets were worn out. Furniture was old and musty. (Not because use of the weather!) we met a lady who has stayed there for the past 16 years… she said the decor has never changed. She also said that the units are up for sale now. For 500K. Great for a fixer upper! If you’re so inclined. I’m not snobby by any shake- but I didn’t want to eat there, sit there, or stay any longer than we did. We had to buy beach accessories.. left them at the room for the next visitors…

Definitely won’t stay again. We did enjoy the grounds… very pretty and lush.

This was our second stay at Plantation Hale (first stay was in May 2023). And we were very happy with our experience again. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a couple minor issues in our room the night we arrived, but we were able to contact the staff the following morning. Someone was out to fix the issues within an hour of contacting the front desk. Quiet/convenient location that is withing walking distance a couple different marketplaces as well as a quick walk to the ocean. Plantation Hale makes you feel at home. Planning to stay here the next time we return to Kauai. Mahalo! A hui hou!

Cozy condo right near the beach. My husband and I both highly recommend this place. We're still giving this place a 5 star even after waking up one morning with no power. They were very quick to get the power up and running again and were very apologetic for it. We loved waking up every morning with a view of the ocean from our balcony. There were 3 separate pool areas, which is great because none of the pools were overly crowded, and 2 of the pool areas had a jacuzzi. We were also only a quick 5 minute walk over to their market area with a ton of souvenir shops, an ABC store, and a few great food places.

We stayed here for 8 days. It was good. The room is clean, the area somewhat quiet. You are by a main road. One of the vallance slats was missing by the kitchen which made noise a little more. But we didnt stay in our room much as we were always exploring. Included parking is also a hugh plus. You'll need a car on the island. Port Allen is about a 40min drive south west. I did not appreciate the wash laundry app that makes you transfer more money necessary to do a wash and then no option to get unused funds refunded or transferred back.
