My colleagues and I flew into Fairbanks on Jan 19, 2025 and decided to stop by for dinner. We arrived less than an hour before they closed and felt guilty about ordering food that late. Our server assured us that it was ok and even mentioned that the Executive Chef was there and sometimes offers a personalized experience (off-the menu, custom order). The chef came out and talked us through some options that he would like to experiment with and we jumped on it. I have to say this was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The food quality and flavor were top-notch as well as the service from both our server and chefs. I also must add that the beer was awesome too, after all it is a brewery! I will definitely be back whenever I’m back in Fairbanks!

Love this place and close to home but totally worth the drive. The wait staff was incredible friendly. Our food arrived in a timely manner and hot. The hubby ordered the Discombobulator beer and enjoyed it. Ordered our favorites the Brick Oven Club and Carne Diavolo Pizza. They did not disappoint. Had a wonderful date night. Plenty of pizza toppings and the sandwich was filling. Thanks Silver Gulch!!

We came in this evening for beer and appetizers. The beer expert of the family (over 900 different beers and 20 countries) was not impressed with the beers here. On the other hand, the service was top notch, the staff was friendly, professional and very helpful. We really enjoyed the Asiago Ale Dip & flatbread. I would come back for that alone.

The standout beer of our visit was the "Old 55 Pale Ale", a beer carefully balancing maltyness with a delicate dusting of hop flavor (Citra and Cascade). After a small pour of it, we understand why it’s a local favorite. Smooth, flavorful, and perfect for sipping alongside an order of their delicious hushpuppies.

The brewery itself is spacious and inviting, with a warm, family-friendly atmosphere that makes it a great stop after a morning of exploring Fairbanks or the nearby Gold Dredge 8 Mine tour. Open since 1998, Silver Gulch combines its mining-town roots with a love of craft beer, producing 24-barrel batches that reflect years of brewing expertise.

Not a fan of their beer? Silver Gulch also has a wide selection of other craft and macro beers as well!

It's well worth the trip if you're in Fairbanks. Delicious beer, you can get tasters (5 maximum). The Reuben Rolls are shockingly similar to something me and my friends love in Arlington, Virginia. The burger is perfectly fine (the only place in Alaska so far I've had a burger cooked to order!) , I'd probably try something else next time, but the potato wedges and the malt vinegar they have are great.

Make sure to make a stop!

75+ minute wait at our table for food!!! (Midweek, off-season) After taking our order, our waitress never returned. We had empty drinks and no water. Our kids got extremely antsy, and we had to ask for help from other restaurant staff for coloring pages to try and keep them entertained. One of the kids didn't get their meal for a long time after everyone else did, and it's miserable for a child to have to wait like that. We spent a full two hours at our table when it was all said and done. A ridiculous wait for easy-prep bar fare. (Pizza, wings, soup, fritters) Good spot to fill a growler, but we won't eat here again.

Very nice place, clean, lots of seating, with a small gift shop. Beers were fantastic, best we had in Alaska, very good pizza, and the Reuben Rolls appetizer was interesting & very good! It is kind of on its own north of Fairbanks, but worth the drive!

Update 07-01-23: Fantastic food. Service is getting better. Used to be very slow, but now is about normal. Today was the best trip I've had here even with a very large group. Will definitely be back!
Onion rings and sauce were great. Fish and chips great with phenomenal tartar sauce! My BBQ burger was great too!
Wait staff was awesome and took the time to split check over 5 times!
Beer was great too!

Food was very good service was ok, the wife and I shared a soup that was very popular, we asked for a second spoon twice and it never came. Drinks were good and bartender was very knowledgeable about what she was serving. Definitely will be eating there again next time I am in Fairbanks.

Well, my friend Laura recommended this place and it was great!! The beer soup was outstanding! The beer was also really good. I had a burger and was not disappointed. Definitely a place I will visit in the years to come. That beer cheese soup and pretzel was fire!!!!

I know it is hard with a group of people on a bus. But they knew we were coming and the menu was set for fried halibut and fries. We got there on time and got cold fried food. Not really their best. Then we ordered some of their brew. The staff person was very unorganized and we got the very cold beer we'll past eating the room temp food. Also it is suggested to pay by credit card. We tried cash and waited for a long time for change.
I hope their normal efforts are improving over this experiment.

I'm sure this won't be our last visit to Alaska, we will definitely return to Silver Gulch. Excellent craft beer selection!
