I arrived at this Super 8 motel following an emergency exit from my Airbnb, very shaken and nauseated by the CO leak which forced my leave in the early hours of the morning. I was completely exhausted at check-in, felt violently ill, and simply in need of a clean room which could house myself and my cat until the Airbnb was free of gases. To make matters worse, I found the small hernia I'd been nursing for weeks, very much ruptured some time in between the loading and unloading of my suitcase and cat. I spent the first couple of days extraordinarily sick, but felt incredibly safe and that those on premise were the kind of incredible people that genuinely care about others, even strangers. I could barely move those first few days, but the manager heeded my need for quiet and peace intrinsically, moving me away from the disturbance outside my initial window causing me much agitation. What can I say about the staff that cleaned up what I would consider a medical biohazard zone, with absolutely no comment to front desk- other than, bless you, for your kindness and incredible hearts, to not make a fuss about what I could not help. Where others would complain, without question, you helped me even without the understanding of my hernia rupture. The hotel manager who demonstrated poise, capability, and congeniality above any 5 star resort's best, yet integrity to the overall outcome of this motel's success (clearly!)- should be the paradigm all Wyndham management follows. ||The hotel was just redone, with bright, ivory, Spanish-stucco paint finishes and new white bedspreads. It was immaculately clean, and the room converted into an a la carte buffet for breakfast, was charming (though I only visited it once at the end, as I could not move.) ||Thank you very, very much, to you all. Though the circumstances were not ideal in my arrival, I left more rested than I have felt in a considerable amount of time, and reinvigorated by the unspoken kindness I felt by your wonderful team. ||-Rayne and Petit-Loup.

Stay Away If You Want Your Deposit Back

I stayed at Super 8 by Wyndham Arcata for two nights during the second week of April, and it’s now May 27 — over a month and a half later — and I still haven’t received my deposit back.

After waiting patiently for almost a month, I called customer service on May 14 and was put on hold for 40 minutes. When someone finally answered, I was told that the front desk staff forgot to process the refund when we checked out. I was assured it would take about a week for the deposit to appear in my account.

Well, it’s been two weeks since then — and still nothing.

I tried calling again, only to be told that customer service “can’t help me” and I now need to contact the hotel directly. I live in Canada, so calling the U.S. means additional cellular charges — just to ask for MY OWN MONEY BACK.

This experience has been nothing but frustrating, unprofessional, and disappointing. Unless you’re okay with potentially losing your deposit for no reason, I strongly do not recommend this hotel. I will never stay at a Super 8 by Wyndham again. Absolutely the worst experience I’ve had with any hotel chain.

I had a great experience. It is not a luxury hotel but everything was clean,the breakfast was good. i stayed at the same place two weeks ago and i left some request to my next stayed and they fulfilled %100. thank you

Positive: Comfortable beds and the sleeping area was very clean. It was very quiet. The breakfast was basic yet tasty. The eating area was very clean. Negative: The bathroom. Sitting on the throne and looking at the baseboard made me want to get a brush and steel wool. The bottom of the bathtub had scratches in the covering and wasn't that appealing but it was clean with good water pressure.

Room is clean, decent bed, pillows are a bit too firm for me.
Other pros: good price, free breakfast, plenty of parking. Within 30min drive of Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park.

The service was good. They are in the middle of remodeling rooms, so the main part if the room was brand new. The bathroom tub had not been changed out and had stains and mold in spots. It also lacked a plug. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast. We are familar with the quick breakfast offered at motels. The coffee was undrinkable. There was only fruit loop cereal, and toast offered. We found no fresh fruit. There had been orange juice but the pitcher iwas empty. No eggs, breakfast sandwhich, ypgurt. There was waffles and syrup.

We slept in the upgraded king room. It was nice, comfy, and clean. The people are always good here. We usually stay here if we come to Arcata. We are from Smith River. it sure was a nice day this weekend. in our comfortable room on the top floor, very quiet.

I stayed at super 8 and the room was very clean. Very large comfortable bed. No problem. An extra towel and blanket. The staff was very gracious and the location was easy to get into and park. Especially if you have a trailer with you. Yes, I would stay here again
