Such a wonderful experience, the moment I walked in I was impressed with the amazing customer service! I loved all the details and the decorations, they even have a bookshelf, nice sitting areas, assortment of teas and coffee. I loved the beautiful bedrooms with the antique style, and the unique bathtub/shower! Our family had a restful night with the comfortable beds. Such a beautiful place and lovely town. The breakfast recommendations were great too! Thank you so much for your kindness. Would love to go back.

Beautifully renovated hotel in a small safe town. Perfect stop on our journey up the west coast and not too far from Avenue of the Giants. The bar downstairs was wonderfully decorated and the staff were so kind. Our room had a claw foot tub and that was so cool to see. Just wandering through the hotel felt like wandering through a museum because of their preservation of its history.

Always my FAVORITE place to stay! The beds are AMAZING. Staff is so incredibly polite, nice and great to offer local favorites. Breanna was such a pleasure upon checkout.

First, let me start off by saying that this is the best hotel experience (if not just pure life experience) I drove into Scotia on a rainy, dark night and was greeted by the sweetest and most welcoming front desk concierge. What a great way to end a 9 hour drive! I swiftly checked into my room and was met with a toasty and charming abode, fitted with a comfy bed, cleanly bathroom, and plenty of special details to make me feel at home.
Inside and outside, The Scotia Lodge is simply iconic. I enjoyed my stay more than any hotel i’ve ever stayed in and will be booking a room every time I pass through the area again! I can not recommend the Scotia Lodge enough for anyone’s lodging needs while passing through the redwoods. Thanks for making my quick stop through feel like a vacation in itself.

The staff is fantastic. I interacted with 4 different people up front and everybody was really wonderful. Room was clean and well equipped. I wanted a nice home base for exploring the redwoods and this was perfect for my trip.

Stayed a few nights in early November 2024. We were delighted with the lodge in every way. It was off season. We loved the peace and quiet. We loved the historical atmosphere and the substantial feel of the public areas and our room. The bed was comfy. The shower was great. The restaurant was closed for the off season, but we were happy to order take out and eat our meal in the beautiful ball room. The location was just miles from the famed Avenue of the Giants. We could not imagine one reason that any traveler would stay anywhere else when visiting the Humbolt area. Highly recommended and we will definitely stay at the Scotia Lodge on our next visit to the area.

A perfect stay in a beautiful, historic site just south of Eureka, and away from the hustle and bustle. Lots of thoughtfull touches in the room, and attentive staff. We'll definitely stop here again.

Had a great stay here for my girlfriend’s birthday. We came to see the redwoods and explore Eureka, but also really enjoyed our stay here at the Scotia Lodge. I spent a couple hours each morning finding great spots around the hotel to sit and write. The staff were all very friendly and eager to give advice for sightseeing. Also the room was very posh and modern which was great for a birthday trip. The only negative thing I can say is the mattress was a little too firm for me. Pretty minor thing and we both still slept well.

I would definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a hotel near Eureka.
