One of my new favorites in Sheltercove. My wlfe and I have been coming since 2020. This unit had nice windows new cabinets nice stove and fridge. The view from hottub was amazing. One night wasn't enough but that's all I had so I'll take what I can. The host is always really helpful and always responds quickly.

We had a fabulous time at the Spyglass Inn. Richard, the owner, is super wonderful to work with. We flew in, and weather can always be a factor. He was very accommodating and flexible knowing the issues that pilots deal with. The room was clean and the view was fabulous. Highly recommended.

The rooms are gorgeous and the view is unbeatable. I cannot highly recommend the Spyglass Inn enough. This has certainly become the go-to unwind spot for my SO and I. Richard is also a fantastic host. He is extremely helpful and great for communication. I highly recommend that you take some time to stay here!

My husband and I made the fortunate choice to book a room at the Spyglass Inn that happens to be e nothing short of paradise. The room had an incredible view of the ocean and was a great place to see the local wildlife. Quiet, romantic environment perfect for a serene getaway. Highly recommended.

Let me start by saying that Richard is a very friendly "Inn Keeper". I enjoyed our conversations. The view is amazing! I was however, very disappointed in the condition of the property. There is junk sitting in front the entry as well as paint cans on the floor outside the doors. There are piles of debris all around the Inn and construction scraps on the lawn in front of the lower units. The glass on our balcony was falling out and the rails covered with spider webs. There were also wood panels up between the balconies, as well as pieces of trim on the floor. I chose to stay here because of the reviews and pictures but realize now that most of the pictures are 6+ years old. I feel for the price, it should be better kept.

The Spyglass Inn is a lovely place! With only a few quiet rooms, and tucked into the foggy, remote Shelter Cove, it really does feel like a getaway far away from the rest of the world.

IMPORTANT: Even if you make an advance reservation, make sure to call ahead the afternoon of your arrival to let the innkeeper know you are coming! The innkeeper is extremely friendly and we enjoyed talking to him, but it's good to call ahead.

Our rooms were very clean and pleasant, with stunning ocean views as the fog rolls away. The ocean decor was not overbearing. There's a full kitchen with pots and pans, which is nice, since it is hard to find breakfast options nearby (there are more restaurants open for lunch and dinner). The coffee in the room was exceptionally tasty. The gas fireplace added just the right amount of cozy, and the bed and bedding were extremely comfortable.

The overall experience was very close to picture-perfect. You could open the window at night and sleep to the sound of the waves on the coast. And most exciting of all, I was able to fulfill my lifelong dream of taking a bath in a bathtub with a beautiful view! 10/10 would recommend.

We had an incredible time at the Spyglass Inn. Room was very clean and cozy. The views of the coast and ocean are amazing and no place in California compares to the wildlife you see from your patio: baby foxes, deer, birds of prey, quails and whales! We can not wait to stay at the Spyglass Inn again and thank our host for the wonderful accommodations and hospitality.
