Lunch today was just so so. The chicken and dumplings were good but just lukewarm. The carrots and coleslaw were ok. Coleslaw should have been colder. The Mexican corn muffins were not fresh. I should’ve order the Bbq which is what this place does well in. Service is always great!

I was in Sherwood on business and was craving barbecue. My server was very attentive and very polite. I give her 5 stars. The food was just ok. I do quite a bit of smoking myself and I guess I just expect more. The sausage had little flavor, the ribs were tender and had a nice bark, but, again not much flavor. The brisket was overcooked and tough. Everything had a chemical aftertaste. Like the fuel hadn't burned off before putting the meat on. Not a lot of smoke flavor. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't really good. A more flavorful rub and maybe a different wood for smoke would have made a huge difference. My only true complaint is the plastic over the broken urinal in the men's bathroom has been there long enough that there is visible mold on it.

This place holds a special place in my heart. The owner is amazing. I'm proud to call him a friend. I've been a fan of this restaurant going on 20 years now. I would go here with my mom around Christmas and then go look at the lights. Mom's been gone for years now. But the nostalgia is still there. Food is amazing. Great BBQ made by a great family.

I haven't visited here in over 10 years, so I jumped at the chance to go again. Same decor and laid back atmosphere. I ordered the jumbo chopped pork sandwich (slaw and mild sauce included) with a side of okra. I couldn't eat the entire tasty sandwich, but we ate all of the hot, delicious okra. My partner ordered the lunch platter of 2 ribs, 2 slices of beef brisket and 2 smoked sausages sliced to eat. Nope, we couldn't eat all of it either. We did eat all of the slaw and baked beans that came with the platter.our witressCara was quick with the refills and with lunch suggestions. We won't wait 10 years to go again.

My husband and I LOVED the restaurant and the food was delicious! Also Reta our waitress was so wonderful and kind. HOWEVER when we went to pay the cashier asked if our service was bad and we said it was wonderful and she proceeded to say “well with that tip it doesn’t seem like it”. What she didn’t know is we ALSO left cash on the table. How unfortunate for such a good place to be tainted by the entitled attitude of someone who needs to mind their own business and is really damaging the experience because she is making assumptions. Probably won’t come back because we’d rather not deal with her to be honest.

Great place to eat! I had the brisket platter and there was more than enough food to fill me up for two meals.
