Lou & Linda are great hostess! Excellent service! The 3 bedroom 3 bath we rented was top notch! 5 of us had the best time!
Boat dock stall & fishing was on our agenda. Hummingbird Hideaway Resort did not disappoint!!
Lou is expierenced in fishing!
Having bait on premises was so convenient!
Highly recommend. Most definitely be back!!

We just returned home from a stay at Hummingbird Hideaway so that we could meet other family and attend the 4th of July fireworks at Lake Norfolk. This was our first time to stay here and would not hesitate to stay again or recommend to everyone! The owners, Linda and Lou, were so nice and more than accommodating and always present. The grounds were immaculate, parking is very accessible and the covered boat dock is spotless! We did not use the pool but it sure looked inviting and clean...and very accessible to every cabin! Each cabin has chairs on the deck, a picnic table and grill. The cabin we stayed in was small but very comfortable for the two of us...it had a full size stove and fridge. The bathroom had plenty of towels and a full size tub/shower. Cable TV and internet were available. Another review mentions the lack of electrical sockets and this is true, though for vintage cabins like this, that was how things were built . So if you have multiple devices, bring a power strip. The lake was VERY VERY VERY high so we did not try to use their boat ramp though we did see others do it. I would recommend asking about the water level when you make your reservations so you can make boat ramp plans. We used the ramp at Panther Bay Marina which is about a 10-15 minute boat/car ride to Hummingbird. It was just a very minor inconvenience. You drive down to their dock from your cabin and there was ample parking even with the high water. It's always a bit unnerving to stay in a place for the first time but for what we needed/wanted, it worked perfectly for us.

The owners are super nice. It was very quiet and peaceful.The price is very good considering you get a kitchenette. Very clean! Nice looking pool. I didn't try it out. I will recommend this to anyone. We had stayed at another hotel in the area for a couple of nights and had a awful experience so we checked out. Now I wish we had found the Hummingbird hideaway sooner.

We had a bad experience with a different resort for the first part of our trip and ended up switching to this one mid week. They were very accomodating. The room was IMMACULATE and up-to-date. It was so clean my two children were able to take a bath in the tub there. It was very quiet there and very minimal traffic. The pool area was nice and they provided several tubes, toys, water squirters for the kids. Nice sturdy playground for the kids to go on. The one night they had movie night by the pool which my son really enjoyed. It was my son's birthday and the owner was very gracious and let him pick out some candy from the store. I would highly recommend staying here, if you want a nice clean, relaxing place to come to.

Fun friendly family oriented. The pool was nice. The bedroom I had was so hot that I was sweating all night. I was miserable. The living room and 2nd bedroom had AC units. The gravel road is in need of maintenance bad! Clean cabins.

We spent a week with a group of 50 plus relatives at this resort., We loved it! The cabins are set up in a way that the pool was central to all cabins. We could see the front porches of all cabins from ours. The movies by the pool were a definite hit with the teenagers and children. The boat slip is brand new and beautiful. We rented a boat and all boats are very well maintained and very reasonable in price. The owners are very helpful and take pride in the property. We stayed in cabin 10 and it was bright, airy and very clean. In speaking to the others in our family we all agreed this was the best place we had stayed at as a group in the area. We had previously stayed at Fish and Fiddle and at Rocking Chair Resort. We plan to return in a few years and will definitely use this resort again (:

This is the perfect resort for any size group. It has a very welcoming atmosphere. We have traveled to mt home most of my life every summer. As we grew up with families of our own trips got harder to plan. This was the most perfect one ever. The owners are helpful in everyway. We had boat trouble of course if it's going to happen it will when we are so far from home. Lou hooked us up with an awesome mechanic and had us going in just a couple of hours. The rental boats are all very nice and well taken care of. The cabins are great. I can't say enough good about this resort. There is nothing to complain about at all. We are hoping to keep this tradition going for our boys as well.
