We got caught in the storm and needed a place to stay the night. The owner was calm and friendly, very helpful. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was comfy, but I had my own blanket cause I get cold and the one layer wasn’t enough. They do provide toiletries which was nice since we didn’t pack an overnight bag.

In the very charming small town of Mena, Arkansas in the '80s the movie "American Made," starring Tom Cruise parts were filmed in that city and there's a quaint Inn run by a very friendly, professional, and kind man. Signs are posted to please be patient and understanding while they are under construction. You can already see some of the improvements that they have done like big square rainfall shower heads (I'm not sure if that's what they are called but I'm calling them that)which made for a good experience with great water pressure. Very clean and roomy comfortable rooms. No pest of any kind! Pet friendly and affordable considering I travel with 3 fur-babies. Our room had a refrigerator, microwave, and hairdryer in the room. It looked like fresh paint on the walls, good black out curtains, and new beds and bedding (the bed was just right not overly firm or too soft), AC ran well, plus a smart T.Vs in the room as well. It's within walking distance to a Supercenter Walmart, and other stores, gas stations, and a few restaurants. Only 4 minutes away (in a vehicle)from the restaurant Little Italy that I tried while I was there and gave a great review for not only because of the food but the service as well. This Inn has a few repairs and such that they are needing to do like the ice machine needs to be repaired (he was kind enough to share his ice cubes with me but there's also a sonic close by and they sell crushed ice bags and could easily fix your dilemma on cooling your beverages or filling your cooler. There's also a gas station on the corner or Walmart next to)and minor other cosmetic repairs but if you are interested in a safe, comfortable, not overly priced stay differently give this place a chance. I also enjoyed the running water (not sure if it was a creek or river)and the garden beds that were near. The back of the Inn has a field of beautiful wildflowers (I posted pictures of) This gave us a nice place to relax at after our day at Crater of Diamonds State Park located at State park in Pike County, Arkansas which was only an hour and half drive from here and is on the legendary scenic highway, the Talimena National Scenic Byway in southeast Oklahoma and connecting states offers breathtaking views along its 54-mile route. The route begins near Talimena State Park in the town of Talihina and winds through the Ouachita National Forest, following the gorgeous Kiamichi Mountains. I hugely recommend taking that drive especially if you like road trips, a nature lover, have an RV or a camper or like to camp. If you do not like winding roads and at times high winds, just take it slow and easy or plan ahead so you're not driving at night. The wildlife and nature views during this time were gorgeous and I'm told even better in the fall. I'm sure it would be stunning no matter what time of the year. I think that it should be on everyone's bucket list at least once in their life to do.

ATTENTION OUACHITA TRAIL BACKPACKERS/BIKERS I GUESS... THIS IS THE SPOT!!!

I'm so grateful to have found this place! Had to get off trail (Foran Gap trailhead for Ouachita Trail is perfect pickup/dropoff) for a couple days because my cajun puppies feet were not ready for these rocks.
From the lady at the front desk giving us her own pup's socks and tape to the housekeeping ladies being so helpful when it came to helping with shower flow issues, everybody here has been so kind and good to us.
As a very important side note to hikers, there is a Walmart next door (on the same side of road) for extremely convenient resupply+. No other place around would have accompanied us nearly as well with amenities, fair prices, as well as entertainment (the inn is situated on a fast moving creek with very active barn swallows constantly hunting 🙂 ). Endlessly grateful to both Mr. Dale for being able to shuttle us to and fro at very short notice, and the entire staff here. This was way more than the safe space to recharge that we needed!

Pretty clean, large room, no soap for shower, tiny toilet paper....requested more but they forgot. Had to go after it. No bath mat but they brought on request. No hangers. 1 comfy chair. Door lock was funnily, but we were able to get in. Little stream out front next to the road. Easy walking to fast food & coffee

Positive: The convenience of the location. Negative: They were remodeling. The walls are thin so I could hear people laughing half the night.

We booked this motel on line through Expedia. Based on the pictures from online, the motel seemed clean and for a good price. It was dark upon arrival when we went to check in. At check in, front desk was unable to find our reservation and did not have the room we requested available. They did however have another room with two queens available for the same price. When we got to the room, it was obviously dated, seemed cleaned. My husband sat our bag down on the table and when to the restroom. Upon entering the rest , when turning on the light, no less than 20-30 little cockroaches scurried around the bathroom craving in and on the shower, walls, and floor. I did pull back the blankets on the bed and sheets had spots on them. I did not need to look further. We immediately left and went back to the front desk to let them know we could not stay in there in these unsanitary and unsafe conditions. We were not offered a refund or another room. DO NOT stay here. We are attempting to get a refund through Expedia and the hotel refused to refund through them.

I was very pleased with my stay. It appears they're slowly remodeling the hotel room by room and they're really doing it right. The hotel doesn't look great from the outside. But when I walked into the room I was pleasantly surprised by now nice it was. So I would say they're spending their money on what's important to the guest. I would definitely stay here again.
