The hotel itself was great. We booked last minute on our way through town and we were very pleased with the cleanliness and especially the staff. They were super friendly. But what made it even more amazing was our experience with the maintenance staff. We had to call the front desk because we had an issue with the tv, which turned out to be an easy fix. Within minutes, maintenance staff was in our room to help. We also had a problem with our toilet. Not gonna lie, my daughter and I stopped up the toilet! Rodriguez Dukes of maintenance handled it like a champ. He did not make us feel at all like an inconvenience and went above and beyond to make us feel like a valued guest of the hotel. I wish everywhere had the customer service that this hotel has. Good job to management and staff both for prioritizing what’s important, which is customer service skills, especially for the travel industry!

Outstanding staff, clean hotel. Everyone was so friendly and professional, from the front desk to housekeeping. Thank you Karen for the lovely chat in the front lobby for a few minutes. A special shoutout to Brandie and Amari in the M lounge two nights in a row. They were both friendly, polite and ensured I was comfortable and had anything I needed. Excellent experience here!

Over the 5 days that we were at the Marriott Birmingham, every moment was exceptional! |From the front desk staff, to housekeeping, and definitely Carly and Chris, in the bar area! |Carly and Chris made our visit very memorable, and enough so that we would return to this hotel. After only one visit to the bar our first night there, they remembered us, and our beverage order from the previous visit….made us feel so welcomed! Felt like an upscale “Cheers”! Keep up the great job, Carly, Chris and the entire Marriott B’ham Team. I wish I could recall the name of the gentleman at the front desk, that assisted us, because he was amazing as well! He may have been a manager, as I saw him in a conference room, in what appeared to be an interview, as we were departing the hotel on Monday, 4/28/25, around 11 a.m.|The food was excellent, also - not your typical “bar food”. ||We will see you next time, Marriott Birmingham!

We used a reward night to stay here on our way back to Georgia. Rooms are very nice with all the usual amenities. Bed was firm, which we like. Breakfast not provided but coffee is available in the lobby starting at 5:30am. ||Location sucks. There is SO much traffic on 280 in the afternoons. It took us 25 minutes to go 5 miles toward the hotel. The screwy intersection makes it impossible to easily get across 280 to eat at the closest restaurant, a Thai place. Forget about walking to the many eateries within a mile. What would be great if the hotel facilitated food delivery from local eateries. It would make much happier guests to not have to deal with the traffic.

Good location. Bed was comfortable and room and bathroom seemed clean. Tub was clogged so I had to stand in dirty shower water as I showered. Tried to find something on the website to contact the hotel and the only option was by phone. Staff were mostly all friendly. Front desk staff were awesome. Didn’t like that at breakfast I sat down at a table and one of the staff told me I had to get up and move to another area. Why? Table and chairs were empty and not being used. No signs saying don’t sit here. I thought that was kind of rude and inconvenient. I had to sit with a stranger due to nothing else being available. Wish the rooms or at least each floor had a microwave available. Fridge was too small to keep a gallon jug of tea I brought. Breakfast provided for conference I attended was good except for cold pancakes with hard edges. The lunch the day before was just ok. Mac and cheese tasted like noodles and canned cheese - gross!

We LOVED the bartender, Chris. He was super fun & makes great drinks! Come see him & watch him work (my fave part).

Lyssa was also great! Super nice & accommodative.

Great hotel in a great location. We stayed here and drove back and forth to the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa for our daughter’s graduation ( about 55-0 minutes). The rates were great and there is great shopping ( The Summit) and great restaurants ( Perry’s Steakhouse) within minutes.|The staff was very efficient and friendly. They also have a lounge for Bonvoy members in addition to a nice restaurant/bar.

Very good location near shopping and restaurants but this property is very outdated. The Elevators barely work. Gym is small. Rooms need updating and so do the small, dark bathrooms. The concierge lounge is clean and modern. However, the food was non-existent for my two night stay. Very disappointing
