A good strawberry field, with plenty of strawberries.

Also had some great peaches.

A sincere pumpkin patch
I first visited this patch in 2009 while attending a local school. I took it for granted that it was a sincere patch then. Last year, my fiancĆ© and I decided to go to a patch for the first in years. After spending an hour seeking a sincere patch close to home and becoming frustrated, I recalled Farmer in the Dell. I was surprised to see they were still around and open. I was ecstatic to learn that they were also still a sincere pumpkin patch. Almost all locations these days, yes, these particular days, that advertise themselves as a pumpkin patch are misleading. They do not farm. They do not have a patch. What they have is a multitude of pumpkins purchased elsewhere set out in a field like a small children’s Easter egg hunt. That is not a sincere patch. That is a lie. Sure, some people think Fall and suddenly long to see ā€œexotic animalsā€ that have nothing to do with the season or this continent. All we wanted was an honest-to-god, whomever that may be, pumpkin patch where we could lift leaves, excited at what we might find, struggle if we should search the other lengthy rows for that one that might be that much better, and actually use a tool to snip it from the vine. I’m getting old, but I find myself with child-like joy searching this patch. Colors are incredible and bright. Growth patterns vary in strange and beautiful ways. The owners of this patch have been incredibly kind and appear very open-minded and friendly. They open as a strawberry patch in the summer and also make delicious homemade ice cream with them. They have a small corn maze, activities for children like games, corn box, slides, a hayride etc. This year a beautiful, sweet, presumably, Anatolian Shepherd puppy was present behind a fence with chicks, goats, and a calf when we visited on Oct. 3rd. Farm animals of all things. Going earlier in the season obviously means more variety. They provide wagons to haul your pumpkins and clippers to remove them. There is no additional fee for these items. They sell homemade ice creams, bottled water, and jars of local honey. There is seating to enjoy your food while the kids play nearby. There’s also a beautiful flower garden where one can purchase individual flowers. Plenty of parking. If you seek one of the only remaining sincere patches in the area, this is it. If you don’t want to be in nature, get a little dirty, and have a real experience then exotic animal easter egg field is probably your best bet. If you want a corn maze, go somewhere where that’s their main purpose. If you walk around in the natural world, expect small critters. This is a real pumpkin patch operated by real, friendly people selling a real experience and we hope they continue for years to come so we can return each one from Wetumpka.

This is by far THE BEST pumpkin patch. It is as authentic as they come. You actually find and cut your own pumpkin from the vine…and not just the same ole orange kind-they have beautiful pumpkins of all different colors, shapes, and textures. The kids games are simple and fun, they sell their own honey, have baby chicks to hold, and a baby cow and goats to visit and have a great hay ride. Our two girls had a ball and it was so nice to show them where pumpkins come from. Had a fantastic experience! Will continue to make it an annual event!

I’ve been going every year since I’ve gotten here and I have a fun time every year! They offer hand picking of pumpkins, sunflower clippings, lots of photo ops, tractor rides, and fun for kids (but def still fun for adults). I’d say, GO!

Worst experience ever!!! Paid $10 for my husband and I for nothing but a trip to the ER. Went to pick flowers and got attacked by fore ants! I am not kidding I have 50-100 bites on each foot! I want a refund! This pumpkin farm should spray if they are sending people to puck their own flowers and pumpkins. I got attacked in the grass next to the flower patch. This place is really for families with small children
