My friend and I stayed in two of the upstairs rooms for two nights. This review is quite mixed: ||On the positive side the upstairs rooms have vaulted ceilings and lots of light (which I very much appreciate) and the beds are comfortable. The little decks in each room were charming with views of the courtyard and a glimpse of the hills. The host (who built this place) was very pleasant and welcoming. He lives on the property and is readily available. The large in-room tub was wonderful and hot water plentiful. The check in and check out hours are very reasonable. The kitchen downstairs is available with a microwave, and the dining room and common area is quite lovely as is the courtyard.space.||There are indeed small refrigerators and a toaster in each room and for continental breakfast— bagels with fixings, juice, and sweet rolls are provided. Unfortunately, there is no fresh fruit only plastic cups of ā€œcanned fruitā€ and all the provisions are bulk bought (probably frozen) rather than locally sourced (there are two marvelous bakeries in town.) there is complementary sparkling water as well (a nice touch.)||On the negative side:|The in-room Keurig needed to be descaled. There was paint wearing off in patches, one towel bar in my bathroom was torn out, leaving an unpatched hole. The industrial rug throughout the entire upstairs is stained, dirty, fraying, and disgusting.|The wing back chair in my room was so broken down that I found it impossible to sit in comfortably. One of the ā€œdouble hungā€œ windows in my room needed repair and would not stay up. The screen on the slider was torn and frayed. The overhead fan in my friend’s room was noisy and vibrated so much it was scary (no way to turn it down from ā€˜high’.) Some of the furniture was very nice, ā€œantiqueā€ cabinets and wardrobes but another dresser looked like it could have been picked up from the curb. ||It is close enough to town to walk there, but it would be dangerous because there’s no sidewalk or shoulder to walk on and the roads are fairly narrow and windy. ||Conclusion: it’s a nice place, but for the price it definitely needs to be updated with better chairs, some general repairs, and new flooring. Fresh fruit and real silverware for the continental breakfast would also help. And if the owner really wants to wow his guests, he could bring in scones from a downtown bakery.

Pt. Reyes Station Inn was a nice place to stay for our visit to Pt. Reyes National Seashore. It is very quiet with all that a traveler needs. Our room was spacious and the bed comfortable. A large dining area with big windows facing the garden area is available for guest use at any time including a kitchen with a microwave and refrigerator. A la carte breakfast items such as juice, English muffins, assorted cereals, yogurt were in our fridge and could be replenished from supplies in the kitchen. The owner was welcoming, friendly and ready to attend to any guest needs. If I had any criticism, it would be that it is quite worn and on the dated side. Could use a little freshening up but is a perfectly comfortable place to stay.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay as we visited point Reyes seashore. Debbie was so kind to us and treated us well.

The place is very clean. They do a good job of cleaning the rooms and public areas. I recommend this place for couples visiting for a weekend trip. Might also be good for families.

They provide small treats in the rooms of the guests in the fridge.

Lovely Inn with just three rooms, all upstairs. We stayed in the Eastlake room. It was beautifully decorated with lots of extra touches of antiques on display. The bed was very comfy but very high. I needed to use the provided step stool to get on/off easily. There was a nice balcony with table and chairs overlooking the garden patio. We slept with the windows and sliding door open as the weather was beautiful and there was such a nice view. The room had a fireplace. Since Covid the ā€œbreakfastā€ is now in your room. There is a fridge which had water, oj, hard boiled eggs, cream cheese. There was a toaster for muffins/bagels. Also, a couple single serve boxes of cereal, instant oatmeal and homemade granola.|A lovely living room with fireplace was downstairs for guests to use with games, cards etc. |

It’s really clean here. And close to everything.

We stayed in the Eastlake Room and it was energetically nice. However, the mattress seriously needs to be replaced. It felt like a marshmallow. Aside from it being too soft, it squeaked so loud that I woke up every time my BF moved, which was a lot because he couldn’t get comfortable. One night I slept on the floor but then had severe allergies that morning probably because pets have been allowed to stay in the carpeted room. Another thing they should consider is unscented laundry detergent. And not smoking near the laundry room.

Also, from the photos on their website I was under the impression we would be served a delicious breakfast when all that was left in the room was an English muffin, bagel, bear claw, eggs and a couple other things. They did have nice drinks in the fridge. Bovine Bakery in town is divine so it wasn’t a bad thing that we didn’t have breakfast at the Inn.

The garden is lovely and is quiet on the week days when there is no traffic. Bring a bathing suit to enjoy the jacuzzi. And hiking boots to explore the many beautiful trails around. Pt Reyes is a magical area.

Buyer beware of the 7-day cancellation

My wife and I were looking forward to a Memorial weekend 5-day, 4-night stay that was planned about two months prior. Unfortunately, I became ill, and we had to cancel our stay, kayaking & horseback riding excursions. My wife called the day prior to us arriving to cancel and was informed that there was a 7-day cancellation, of which she understood, however we were charged for the entire stay & no other options were presented. When I recovered a week later, I called to see if anything could be done to either get a portion of our stay refunded, I was greeted with no & that the policy is clear on the website. I then asked if we could re-book for Labor Day weekend as we were still wanting to visit that area and was told no again. I was also told that this is normal practice in California, which is not correct as we had a trip to Sacramento changed a few years back and was only charged the first night’s stay and refunded the rest. This is clearly their policy and not indicative of all California. Imagine a week’s long stay, a chance to get out of the city only to have the vacation canceled due to unforeseen circumstances & then must still pay for the hotel stay that never happened. Circumstances happen and I’m not naĆÆve to the hospitality business, however getting charged for the full stay I feel is unreasonable. Regarding the kayaking excursion, my wife received credit to be used later this year & we were not charged for canceling with the horseback riding company.

Loved the Bed, was disappointed by the Breakfast...

When my husband reserved a birthday weekend at a cute bed and breakfast near Point Reyes, I had a cozy vision of a cute room, with a fireplace, with a comfy bed, in a good location (got all of those) as well as a warm breakfast served communally (was disappointed we didn't get that).

The Inn is super well located, down the street from the village, very clean, comfortable, and cozy. No complaints at all, and would definitely recommend on those grounds.

However, on the breakfast side, which is part of the B&B charm, we were left with cold muffins, bagels, and hard boiled eggs in the room fridge. While I understand it's a remnant of COVID precautions, it was a disappointment to the experience. We ended up taking the muffins hiking and got breakfast at a couple of cafes in town.

Overall, it's a good place to stay, but the lack of warm breakfast made me feel more like I was on a business trip and less on a romantic getaway.

This is not a bed and breakfast. They put stuff in a fridge in your room and pretend it's food. |It's nice enough and conveniently located but overpriced. It's little better than a motel. |They emptied the trash in the room and let me use the hose to wash the poison oak off my boots.
