We had a wonderful stay! The building is full of charm—both inside and out—and beautifully maintained. We stayed in the Mark Twain suite, which was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully decorated with unique furniture.

The staff truly made our experience exceptional. They were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive. We were traveling with our 2-year-old, and they went above and beyond to make our stay easy and enjoyable—providing a Pack 'n Play and even a high chair at breakfast (the breakfast was delicious as well).

The location is perfect—quiet and peaceful, yet still within walking distance of fantastic neighborhoods like Japantown, Hayes Valley, Alamo Square, and Golden Gate Park.

We’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

We travelled from a small town in Australia. So landing in a city like San Francisco was a little bit daunting.

This Inn is AMAZING! The staff were perfect. The value was like nothing else we saw on our USA adventure.

The price included breakfast and an afternoon wine and cheese reception.

We are a family of 4 and we stayed in the Mark Twain suite and there was plenty of room for all of us.

We stayed at Chateau Tivoli while attending a major convention in town. My business partner made the reservation, and to be honest, I was a little unsure at first. But that uncertainty completely disappeared the moment I arrived.

Everything about our stay was truly wonderful. Kelly and her team were incredibly kind and welcoming, and the building itself is a gem...absolutely stunning architecture with such fascinating history. Each morning we were treated to delicious food and warm, engaging conversations with both the staff and fellow guests. Rooms were spacious and the place was so clean.

Chateau Tivoli has easily become my go-to place to stay whenever I’m in town. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Everything about our stay at the Chateau Tivoli was impeccable - beautiful rooms, outstanding breakfast, and friendly staff. We loved relaxing in this historic B&B in between our San Francisco outings. I truly hope that someone that respects the beauty and history of this home buys it (it is for sale at the time of writing this review). It is an absolute treasure in this area and honestly should be historically preserved. If this home is still functioning as a B&B when I return to the Bay Area, I will definitely be booking a room again!

We enjoyed our stay at the Chateau! The lobby and rooms were looked great, breakfast was homemade and tasted good, and the check-in and checkout instructions were easy to follow. We had an emergency and had to cut our trip short, and we were very appreciative of the hotel for being so understanding. Would definitely stay again next time we are in SF!

One of a kind experience! Small B&B with only a hand full of rooms but each with its own character. I had the Aimee Crocker suite, which was fantastic. The water pressure isn't the best but its a hundred year old house after all. Perfect romantic escape and walking distance to the civic center and the pink ladies. Great breakfast was a treat, and the staff were wonderful! Give it go.

Absolutely outstanding inn. Staff is amazing. We stayed in Lily Langtree suite, it was extremely spacious for 4 adults. The breakfast fare is wonderful. Wine and cheese in the parlor in the afternoon. Definitely worth staying here.

This place was fantastic. We had the Louisa tetrazzini suite. It had pocket doors. It’s own bathroom sitting room, wonderful windows a little balcony to go out on quiet the staircase is fantastic. The breakfast is wonderful. You have the run of the house you can do anything you want in there go into the kitchen eat anything —Take a dish glass or use the refrigerator or freezer. There is always fruit and cookies available in the dining room. At all hours. The staff is great and the cleaning crew. The cleaning lady does an excellent job. It’s clean. It’s fantastic. I can’t say enough about it. You must stay here. It’s centrally located wonderful area. I loved it The bed was so comfortable.
