We stayed here for our daughter's graduation. The location was perfect and walking distance to the campus. This is a very old hotel and there's a charm about it. If you're used to staying at modern hotels, this is not it. There's 2 small elevators. The staff was very nice and helpful. Parking was conveniently located behind the hotel.

This hotel had such a nice charm! The hotel staff were so kind. Especially Eric at the front desk, he was so nice and was extremely helpful when I was checking in. Cynthia at the front desk was also extremely helpful and went out of her way to help me with my reservations when I was having issues making them. Thank you to the other Cynthia (manager) as well. The hotel is more on the older side, but the rooms and bathrooms were cleaned nicely. The hotel bar Henry's has this sourdough bread with butter appetizer option that was so tasty! I would definitely come back, the front desk was so welcoming.

We were visiting UC Berkeley, and the location is perfect for campus. The lobby area is beautiful, with lots of comfortable seating. The reception team was friendly, helpful and welcoming. But once you are out of the lobby, the decor is very dated...|Our king room was clean and had a very comfortable bed and bedding, but the bathroom was poor. The basin was tiny, and the shower was awful; poor water pressure and switching between very hot and very cold every 30 seconds. This isn't a budget hotel, so the overall feeling was a bit disappointing for the cost.

I don’t want to be dramatic and say this is the worst hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. But, value for money, it’s easily the winner for “worst ever.” I feel like I got scammed.||I’ll lead with the good so you know I can be fair- it was generally clean, and the sheets were soft. Onto the bad. The walls are paper thin, and I heard everything and everyone. The water pressure is nonexistent. The water is also cold at night, no matter how far you rotate the nob to “hot.” The windows jam. ||The room’s decor is ugly. Who wants to feel like they’re in a decrepit dorm room? Honestly, my college dorm room was much nicer. And little things irritated me. Like, why do I have to ask for housekeeping? And why do they come by at 4:30 pm, when I’ve been out all day? Why did I only get decaf coffee packets in my room? Why did the hotel only have one barista who functioned as the entire coffee shop’s staff when the line went out the door? Occam’s razor- because the hotel is miserly. ||When I first arrived, I was put in a basement-like room with outside dirt on display through the window. The front desk was kind enough to agree to switch me to a different room. Not her fault the hotel still sucks.

A difficult property to rate as the intangibles are mostly present, however if you’d like a good sleep or a nice shower for your money you’ll be regretting your choice of staying here.

Common areas are decorated neatly with nostalgia. Service was excellent at all times.

You’ll be let down upon entrance to the elevators and beyond. Everything after the lobby is too far out of date to justify anything more than 2 stars.

Elevators are tiny, and only one is ADA accessible.

Hallways smell of an old home, as do the rooms.

The shower is unusable. Water pressure is non-existent, it quite literally took minutes to get my hair fully wet. Additionally, expect that the water will go from glacial cold to surface of the sun hot, in cycles, throughout.

The rest of the room, including the bathroom, is tiny, old, uncomfortable, and not particularly clean. Of note, there is a kettle in the room, which is a quirky addition for America, however there is no tea. Hope you enjoy instant coffee…

Finally, the gym is tiny and only built for one, although the equipment was in good shape.

Bottom line, for staying in town you’ve got a nice location with lovely employees but that’s the end of it. Until there is a full remodel of the upper floors, including all utilities, I’d not stay here again and suggest you stop considering it.

Avoid 6th floor!!!

This is the worst Hilton hotel room I've ever stayed in (625).

And I've stayed in Hiltons across the US and across the world.

They said the top floor room was the best choice of two. Right below the central A/C that isn't sound isolated... there's a massive humm-humm-humm-humm... low wavelength sound, high pulse rate. They've not sound-isolated the rooms from the roof.

I'd checked in at 4. Heard the problem after dinner.

Front desk was nice, but they were now 'sold out'. I'll send an engineer up, as she'd never heard of this. Must have been new. Nice engineer came and commiserated.

Partial solution? Move the bed away from the pulsing, humming walls.

But the room entrance door has a huge gap --- sound and light show from late arrivals. Solution: pillows.

Now the couple next door has shown up. Uh-oh. The connecting door has a gap bigger than my thumb. Another sound and light show.

All I wanted to do was sleep... and for >$1000 for three nights that should be possible, shouldn't it? Shouldn't it?

Very nice staff… found me a proper room today.

Then THIS is the hotel for you! The hot water never did come on this morning. The front desk didn't seem to concerned. I guess they had a hot shower this morning. They over did it with charm (who doesn't love a bong-shaped lamp?) but left a lot to be desired in all other areas. It's an old hotel, I get it. Parking is teeny tiny, as is the bathroom. I never could get the casting right to the tv, but at least the wifi was strong. The cafe is awful - out of most items and what they could make was greasy. Walk over to Strata instead.
