I looked this hotel up on the internet before making my reservation. I have ALWAYS wanted the excuse to stay there and check it out. I saw free cancellation and I went for it. Tje person I spoke with was very nice and helpful.
I confirmed, when I booked the room, that my card WOULD NOT be charged until I showed up and checked in.
We made it there at 5:30pm, and THEN I got called back to work. I told the person J spoke to I was on call and if I got called in I wouldnt be checking in. Once again, she kindly explained I would not be charged until we check in. I wanted to change the card I was using.
I got called in, as we pulled into the parking lot.
We never got to go.
I woke up to a room charge on my card though...
Soo not happy.
I feel like I got robbed.
I will come back and update after speaking to the manager tomorrow.
I was told they're not in today. I'm sure they will resolve this matter and do not expect an issue.
UPDATE:
The manager fixed this issue FIRST THING IN THE MORNING.
He also called me. He was so kind he uplifted me. I was having a rough day. Gave me hope that customer service is not dead.
I WILL be back. I would like to go tjrough once they are done remodeling and pkst some fresh inside pics!

This used to be a nice place for travelers. The new owners as of last year will not let you continuously Stay there nor offer a discount for the resident tax. You have to move out every 28 days non Negotiable and there are no discounts for companies. Which you know they're not actually paying the. They're just pocketing the money. Otherwise they would keep the old policy. There's no reason to change it You're not losing any money? You don't care to charge the tax unless you're not paying the tax and you're just pocketing the money. If you are working on any of the upcoming wind farms.
You have to check out every 28 days. They have restrictions on pets.
And are quite more expensive than they were in the past. You can literally get a better deal at the holiday inn cousins. They did a small renovation Definitely not worth the price. And they are quite rudely suggesting maybe look into airbnyes. This is their first wind season so they don't understand the amount of people that come to town. Everything is booked not to mention. Google still has work going on. Avoid the Dallas Inn at all costs.
Makes me sad to say that i've used them for over twenty years😭
But what they're doing makes no sense unless they are just pocketing the extra call con artist.

Mind my mess rooms were great .. clean modern and quiet .. place looks kinda ruff but would definitely recommend it for a quiet little get away

50/5 stars. Are they working to improve? Yes. Did it have a pool? No. They’re deciding to make it into a restaurant (but that takes lots of capital).
Here’s the positive: The staff, the room, the coffee in the morning. Ray was professional, courteous, and prompt. He went out of his was to make us feel like family.
The room was ice cold on a 104 degree day. It was clean. The beds are comfortable and I slept like a baby (rare).
I would stay here 100 times over.
Specifically I was on the 4th floor overlooking the river.

Overall clean/simple hotel. They are refurbishing right now so 2 floors are closed. The free breakfast is very basic; and they ran out of yogurt … seems pretty basic. Pool is long gone. Close to a few restaurants, try Shannon’s ice cream-very good!

Older hotel with ongoing renovations. It is in the middle of town with ample parking. Clean rooms and quiet. I will stay here again.

The check in desk area was quite fancy. Then we were directed across the driveway to a not so fancy hotel complex. However, the rooms were nice; clean, quiet, and had all the amenities I needed and I love the shampoo etc dispensers in the shower! It seems like it is an up and coming hotel and in a good location.
