Nine of us stayed at this beautiful home recently. The owners Kevin and Julie met us at check in. They greeted us warmly with a bottle of wine, a loaf of bread and a bunch of bananas, and then showed us all of the details of the home. The historic home is over 100 years old, but has been beautifully updated with modern features. There is a sound system throughout the house that can be controlled through the Sonos app on our phones. There are 6 bathrooms including the additional apartment downstairs that we rented. All are completely functional and spotlessly clean. The kitchen is better stocked than our kitchens at home. We made a gorgeous meal with homemade desserts and had everything we needed. The pool is lovely. The hot tub temperature was wonderful. Unfortunately the spa jets weren’t working during our stay.
The location is perfect for visiting the wineries on both the WA and OR sides of the river. We also had easy access to Hood River for dinner and browsing, as well as Mosier for the small, local MosierFest. The home is less than a mile walk from a great bakery in downtown The Dalles (Le Petite Provence) and also the local farmers market. With all of that said, our favorite part of the home was hanging out and bonding in the gorgeous back yard. The landscaping, deck and plantings make it an oasis.
We will absolutely return to this gem!

Incredible experience. The hosts take extreme pride in their property, and are very gracious and accomodating. Pool, hot tub, an amazing private yard blend nicely with a clean and beautiful home. We especially enjoyed the outdoor dining table under the pergola in the Summer, along with a newly remodeled kitchen. We'll be back!

We traveled from the Oregon Coast to The Dalles to visit friends. The recommended the R and R Guest House for our short stay. When we arrived in the early afternoon of a bright, sunny but cool day we found Julie getting her plantings in the ground and pots. We can only envy the guests that will be coming in late April and through the summer. The grounds are going to be fabulous. I wish that we would be there when breakfasts are served on the deck, surrounded by the beautiful scenery and pool. I've emphasized the outside areas but the home interior is a great place to spend some time. The living room and den are warm and comfortable-we loved the original wood floors-they just feel right! Our room had a king-size bed that was a delight and the room was well-kept and welcoming. Welcoming describes Julie and Kevin-we had great conversations with them. Breakfasts...well, just like every other review, we found both the presentation and the dishes top notch. Just a short drive from Portland it is another world-a great place to get some sun and have some fun.

I do not recall feeling more relaxed on a vacation, and that was because this house, yard pool and hot tub were immaculate, beautiful, and well maintained. It is clear that no detail was ignored during the renovation of this charming Victorian house. I believe the owner must be a professional gardener of some kind as the yard should be in a magazine. We chose this place for our family vacation mainly because I thought my kids would enjoy having their own private pool (which they did immensely), but I was blown away by the overall quality of the house and yard (the pictures do not do it justice).||||While on our trip, we enjoyed the Goldendale Observatory, the National Neon Sign Museum, Horsethief Lake State Park, Horsethief Butte, Multnomah Falls, and Mosier Falls. We enjoyed meals at Momma Jane's Pancake House (Close to the house in the Dalles)(the leftovers of which yielded a second meal for everyone), Cousins' Country Inn (The Dalles), and Ayutla's Family Mexican Restaurant in Goldendale. We intended to visit the Mount Hood Ski Bowl to take advantage of their Summertime offerings (go karts, zip lines, etc.) but regrettably it was not open in late May. I feel like we only did 1% of what there is to do in the Columbia River Gorge area.||||The only problem with the vacation was that my kids complained every time we were leaving the R&R Guesthouse to go to an activity or a restaurant because they liked the house so much. I would consider myself extremely lucky to stay here again, whether it be for a family vacation or other.

This place was our favorite stay by far out of our entire Columbia River Gorge trip! The owners are very cool people and just the sweetest couple. We were the only guests staying in their beautiful home that evening and enjoyed our room and the huge hot tub after we returned from a late night out in The Dalles. The next morning, we were provided a very filling, delicious breakfast before we left for more exploring. The house is conveniently located and we never felt like we had to rush. Such a fun and relaxing stay!

My husband and I were in The Dalles in August for a wine tasting tour and this B&B was recommended to us as a great place to stay with wonderful hosts. So true. The hosts Kevin and Julie are so welcoming and comfortable to be around. When we arrived they showed us through the house and explained everything we needed to know to enjoy our stay in comfort. The house is immaculate and our bed was super comfortable and the room was appointed with every amenity to make our stay enjoyable. We stayed in the Master Ensuite, our son had Mountain View room, and another couple visiting at the same time were in the Apartment. We all loved our rooms. The breakfast were amazing and it is so nice to eat outside and enjoy their resort level pool/spa area. Its an amazing place. Don't miss this gem!

We stayed at the R and R Guesthouse for two nights, September 10 and 11. This is a really nice place. Kevin and Julie were great hosts. Kevin knows the area very well and gave us sound advice on dining options and sightseeing. We had the Deluxe King suite. Great room. Very comfortable bed. It's two steps down to the private bath but with the nightlights provided we didn't miss any steps. The shower has a double head arrangement which was a nice feature. It was all very luxurious. The location in a residential part of the Dalles was peaceful and quiet.||The backyard here is truly beautiful. It includes a small heated swimming pool and a hot tub plus many outdoor seating options.||The breakfasts were gourmet quality. Kevin provided happy hour snacks free of charge and was great company as we reviewed our first day with him. Attention to detail is evident in everything thing they have done here. I'm looking forward to staying here again.

We spent two fabulous nights at the R & R Guesthouse. The hosts were so warm & welcoming . At our time of arrival we were greeted with wine & appetizers & delightful conversation . Our room.was comfortable & peaceful. Our hosts backyard had a tranquil zen ambience complete with a swimming pool & inviting hot tub. Truly a luxury be a guest at this bed & breakfast. Our host were most helpful in restaurant recommendations & local museum. In addition Kevin& Julie were most knowledgeable on sharing driving time as we were attending a wedding in the nearby town of Dufur Oregon.
