We stopped here for lunch after snowshoeing to the lake. This doesn't show that there is a restaurant at this location but there is, it's open in winter on Friday through Sunday. They have great food. We had an elk burger and some chili.

Service was over the top!!
From boat rental attendant to the fabulous waitress & waiter! Very attentive and so helpful!
We had fish & chips for lunch and came back for more the second day!!
It was delicious!
Fish tacos delicious!
Now my only complaint was the over priced dinners.
We had the fish dinner at 45.00 each a plate.
The fish was amazing but the vegetables were not cooked but came raw & cold.
The mash potatoes were cold as well!
Not worth spending the money on dinner menu.
Order from the lunch menu!
We didn't stay in the cabins due to other bad reviews that I had read.
I ran into a lady staying there and she confirmed what I had read!
She said rooms where dirty and run down with terrible beds.
The grounds were well keep and clean and beautiful views!
All and all we will be back to spend the day and rent a pontoon boat!

We just came home from three nights in the Dove cabin. We have been going to a cabin at Paulina for over 35 years. The people were all very friendly. The cabin was just fine. It was free to park, launch the boat and park the trailer. We beached the boat close to our cabin. The sunrise on the lake was beautiful and the hot springs were great. Our love for this lodge carries on. People who don’t like this experience might prefer Sunriver.

If you’re thinking about going to Eastlake DON’T! The water is super low and almost nobody was over there. The water smells awful and there is algae all over the place!

Go to PAULINA LAKE LODGE and you won’t regret it!

My wife booked a couple nights on a whim in the Snowbird cabin. So, I did my due diligence and read the reviews here. Needless to say I was a little concerned with all the negativity. Now I realize that reviews are generally worthless, because only the perturbed tend to write them. So, I'll set the record straight here. Are the cabins rustic, and spartan when it comes to creature comforts? Yeah, yeah they are. They are almost a hundred years old in a remote area that is snow locked for 5-6 months out of the year. Part of the charm. Do you have to haul firewood and chop your own kindling? Again, yes. If you can't handle that with a maul that is provided, maybe this place isn't for you. In winter months will there be snow on the porch and entry way? You're at 6,500 elevation, and to get there you had to take a sno-cat, snowmobile, shoes or skis, so what do you think? Is the water sulphuric? It is. You're on a volcano with geothermal activity all around you, so it should be expected. Totally safe, but if you don't like it, bring bottled water. Could the staff be considered surely? Well, I'm not a hyper-sensitive guy, but.... maybe. Imagine dealing with people complaining about the inconvenience of chopping kindling all the time. End of the day, if you are looking for that 5-star Marriott experience, don't bother, this isn't your sort of place. Honestly, I waffled on writing this review. I like the idea of all the negative reviews scaring off soft city people, and keeping this hidden gem hidden, but that's not fair to their ownership.

I hate posting bad reviews, but I would be remiss if I did not let people know what you are paying WAY TOO MUCH money on what you get. My family stayed there August 2nd thru August 5th 2024. I spent a lot of money on their cabins. I reserved 3 cabins and it does advertise "Rustic" and I can tell you when they say rustic they mean rustic. I spent close to 4000.00 for 3 cabins. I have to tell you the cabin I stayed in was not cleaned. The sheets had some horrible stains on them. So bad that my family in all three cabins would not sleep on the sheets the first night. My son pitched a tent on the deck and my daughter-in-law slept in her car. The pots and pans were pretty much non-existent. They had moved all the skillets in to another cabin. They only skillet could cook 1 egg only. The utensils on the sink where covered in dust. We reserved 2 patio boats for Saturday, and after we got in the middle of the lake we found they did not have ladders to get back into the boat. It made it very difficult to get back in the boat without hurting yourself. They also had signs up in the bathroom, the kitchen warning about a number of things that will cost you more. I understood the reason for them, but every time you walked into a room these notes made us uneasy. I suggest having them given to the renter, sign it and make the renters responsibility to pass the word to the other tenants. I posted those pictures. They charge 10 dollars to park down by the lake too. Seems like there was a extra charge for most everything. The cabins do not have fans or air conditioners. Even in summer heat. It became quite warm in the cabins. We had to go out ourselves and buy 3 fans to make it more comfortable for the kids. All in all, I spent almost 4500.00 dollars for this 3 day "vacation". They went out and bought 7 new sets of sheets to try to make me happy. It did not make me feel better about spending that much money. All in all, it is not worth it. It explains why they only have pictures of the outside and 1 bedroom only.

I’ll think twice about coming back.I pulled into a spot not knowing i was close to the septic tank, Karen was yelling stop, then Todd came over and told me that I was almost on the septic tank and that I would have to call a tow truck, I was a little confused because I didn’t see anything that said no parking no logs or rope to block this spot. Next day we rent a kayak and a paddle board the paddle board was extra wide made hard to sit on.My kayak filled with water 2hours in and in the middle of the lake I was lucky to get to shore and was able to dump it that wasn’t easy! When I got back, I told them that my kayak had filled with water they asked was the water rough?Um yeah you guys seen the weather change. They went on to say “we saw you on the side struggling If you rent one tomorrow, will give you a different kind” wtf!We came back off the lake about 445 and wanted to eat and were told that we had to wait until 530 for dinner which was delicious and the wait staff at the restaurant was great!Some of the staff was great but other not so much.. I understand that Paulina lake staff see lots of people come and go but they could put a little bit of money back into their cabins. They are ran down. Were going to check out East lake next time.

This is a very primitive property. We decided that if the weather was fine and the cabin terrible, we could manage, or if the weather was terrible, and the cabin fine, we would stay for the full three nights. Unfortunately the cabin was terrible and the weather terrible, so after one miserable night we bailed out. The only heat is a wood stove, which generally isn't a problem. However, wood had to be hauled in from the several wood storage huts. There was no kindling so unless you like wielding an axe, bring your own. Matches were NOT provided. Most distressingly we were instructed to use wood stove lighter, stored on the porch. It made the cabin smell of petrol for several hours after lighting the fire. The water, as noted by other reviewers, has a sulfuric smell and taste, so bring drinking water. We found mouse droppings in the dishes. The only seating in the living room other than the dining table was a shabby worn out futon sofa. No one was on duty the entire time we were there. It is end of the season so the store and restaurant were closed. As there is no cell phone service, it would be challenging in case of an emergency to get help. Perhaps in summer it all would feel and be much better. Not a nice place to stay for the money.
