I love this place , I love the store , I love the dogs. I love fumbling around the VHS tapes looking for gold. I like that the people are real people not corrupt people. I love that the furniture in my room looks like it was on Sanford and Son. I love everything about the place. 7 years in a row. I’m always excited that it’s still open. It’s the only thing that hasn’t changed. Thank goodness it’s still open!!! Thanks 1,000 times over.

Update: March 14th 2025 I
Call , gentleman answers second ring I said I have my dog I’m 4 hours away. He said see you soon. I show up in a snow storm. Pay for room , pick 6 VHS movies watched Star Wars movies for two days and played in the snow. Love this place. I hope it never changes while I’m still alive. Thank you !!!

I had the pleasure of staying at this terrific motel last night. Yes, exterior appearance a bit shabby, but this adds to its charm for me. Check in was seamless. There was a large friendly dog to greet you as well as the helpful gentleman. I was in room#5 which sported a clean, comfortable king size bed. There were 2 extra blankets. There was a vintage day bed as well that could have slept 2 small children. The beautiful wood walls and ceiling were spectacular. The place had a mini-fridge, a microwave, TV and VCR player with free movies to checkout at the office. I needed a mug to heat water in the microwave and the nice guy in the office quickly produced one for my use. I slept a full nine hours. In the morning, I realized I had left my car doors unlocked and it was packed a bunch. Not a single thing out of place. So safe and quiet. I would have given it 5 stars except there is no electrical outlet in the bathroom. A 10ft extension cord would make this work. Thanks for the great night's rest.

The place on the outside looks like it needs major repairs. We could see light through the 6 panel door. Toilet seat surface coating had major peeling. Bedspread looked like it was from the sixties (not retro either). Place looked clean enough until I went to plug in my phone. Major dust under night stand and along trim. Location was great as it was 20 mins. from the north gate of Crater lake. The man who checked us in was friendly enough but the lobby was in disarray. Stuff all over the place. Wouldn’t recommend this place the only thing good was location and $. As the saying goes you get what you pay for.

Nice & quiet place to sleep. Had my little chihuahua with me & we were both very comfortable. I’ve spend long nights in the middle of Mexico at my great grandparents ranch out in the mountains. My point is nothing bothered me here! All & all me personally I was comfortable. No gunshots, no dogs barking, no sirens & no neighbors playing their music loud for no good reason…I slept like a baby! For me Heaven😇 will be back if I’m ever around🙏🏽

Absolutely bizarre. |But I had a great experience. |The two dogs and the cat were friendly and welcoming and the beds were horrible but I had the best nights sleep in like forever. ||The place needs a major re do and not very clean but weirdly a good experience. ||Except for someones underwear in the corner , room was not clean .||

I stayed here the night before visiting Crater Lake, as I didn't have many options. When I made the reservation, the person I talked to was lovely--gracious and knowledgeable, and she told me of various places I should see while in the area, including the waterfalls just passed Diamond Lake. Unfortunately, the rest of my experience was not so positive. I almost backed out of the reservation after getting there and seeing the place, as well as finding the office (which is just a mess) locked. The exterior was not clean and well-cared for, so I was worried the rooms would be the same. Fortunately, the room was clean, albeit smelly. I could deal with the dated furnishings, but the spongy carpet and the smell were hard to take. After checking in, I went across the street for dinner then visited all the waterfalls in order to spend as little time in the room as possible. Sadly, with the smell and the road noise, I barely slept and was happy to hit the road early. It seems like there's so much they could do to make this motel more acceptable, especially by just cleaning public areas. I hope they do....otherwise, avoid it.
